FC New Orleans was an American amateur soccer team based in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The academy team was a provisional member of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) in 2012. They also competed in the 2014 LSA Adult State Cup. [1]
FC New Orleans was established in June 2010 to provide accessibility to quality soccer training for urban youth living in the Gentilly, Eastern New Orleans and St. Bernard Parish areas of the New Orleans Metro Area. It has since evolved into a club structure that includes beginner training for youths as young as 4 years old to adults in both recreational and Semi-Professional competitions.
On June 13, 2012, the NPSL accepted FC New Orleans as an expansion club for their 2012 season. However, the club was made a provisional member after registering past the league deadline for the 2012 season. [2] FC New Orleans played one season and finished with a 2-0-1 record.

These four levels—Major League Soccer, United Soccer League's Pro League, the USL's Premier Development League, the National Premier Soccer League, and the United States Adult Soccer Association— each have their own separate qualification process to trim their ranks down to their final club delegations in the months leading up to the start of the tournament proper.

The Gulf Coast Premier League (GCPL) is a United States Adult Soccer Association affiliated Amateur Elite League that includes teams from Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. The regular season of the GCPL runs May through July. On August 13, 2020, it was announced that the GCPL would be the first "amateur league affiliation" of the National Independent Soccer Association after Gaffa FC and Louisiana Krewe FC competed in the NISA 2020 Independent Cup.

Soccer has enjoyed longstanding popularity in Los Angeles. As of 2019 there are two professional soccer clubs in Los Angeles County that play in Major League Soccer: LA Galaxy and Los Angeles FC. The Los Angeles area is also home to two Division 2 professional teams in the USL Championship: Orange County SC and LA Galaxy II, the reserve side of LA Galaxy, and many semi-professional clubs and leagues including the United Premier Soccer League, SoCal Premier League and National Premier Soccer League, among others. Angel City FC plans to start play in the National Women's Soccer League, the only fully professional women's league in the U.S., in 2022.
