Shakhtar Luhansk was a Ukrainian football club from the city of Luhansk.
The football team was formed in 1977 when there was opened a new mine Luhanska No.1. [2] At the team's beginning stood former players of FC Zorya Luhansk Volodymyr Abramov and Anatoliy Shulzhenko. [2] The team competed in the Luhansk city championship hosting its games in a field next to the local Agricultural Institute. [2]
In the early 1990s the team moved to the newly built stadium in the Luhansk's suburb Yuvileine. [2] In 1993 out of Vahonobudivnyk Stakhanov was invited former Zorya goalkeeper Oleksandr Tkachenko who appointed the club's head coach (manager). [2] Tkachenko became the first actual head coach of the club and the club fielded its senior team in oblast competitions. [2]
As the club improved the club began taking part in the Ukrainian Amateur Competitions starting in 1999. In 2000 when the club was headed by Yuriy Pohrebnyak it brought along several better players and de facto uniting another local team Ellada-Enerhiya and Shakhtar. [2] In 2001 the club won the Ukrainian Football Amateur League championship which earned them the right to enter the Professional leagues.
In the next season Shakhtar Luhansk entered the Druha Liha Group C and had a successful initial season finishing second. Unfortunately, prior to the start of the next season the club's administration withdrew the club from the PFL and the club subsequently dissolved.

Football Club Metalurh Donetsk was a Ukrainian professional football club based in Donetsk that went bankrupt in July 2015.
Football Club Arsenal Kyiv is a Ukrainian football club based in Kyiv. In 2019, the club's professional team was dissolved, but its junior teams continue to compete in city competitions. The club claims to be a successor of Kyiv Arsenal factory team which traces its history back to 1925. The original factory team used to compete in the Soviet Class B, but was relegated in 1964 and officially dissolved.
The Ukrainian Premier League or UPL is the highest division of Ukrainian annual football championship. FC Borysfen Boryspil is a formerly professional Ukrainian football club from Boryspil, Ukraine. The club was created as a phoenix club in 1997 by Ihor Kovalevych after disagreement in FC CSKA Kyiv. The history of the club is controversial and its admission to professional competitions is dubious. In mid 1990s the original team of Zlobenko reached some agreement with the Central Sports Club of the Armed Forces of Ukraine after which there was established a joint team "CSKA-Borysfen" that became the first successful debutant of the Ukrainian Vyshcha Liha finishing among top 5 at the end of season. Following that season the newly created Professional Football League for unknown reason decided to dissolve the joint venture and recognize ownership of the club after company "Kyiv-Donbass" that was associated with the Ministry of Defense.
FC Nyva Ternopil is a Ukrainian football club from the city of Ternopil, the administrative center of Ternopil Oblast. As of the 2020–21 season, it played in the Ukrainian First League, the second tier of Ukrainian football, following promotion from the 2019–20 Ukrainian Second League. Originally the club was formed as Nyva Pidhaitsi in the small town Pidhaitsi in 1978, then moved to a district centre Berezhany changing its name to Nyva Berezhany in 1982, and finally moved to Ternopil becoming Nyva Ternopil in 1985. In 2016 the club withdrew from the professional competitions and was reestablished as PFC Nyva Ternopil.

The 2015–16 Ukrainian Premier League season is the 25th top-level football competitions since the fall of the Soviet Union and the eighth since the establishment of the Ukrainian Premier League. Because of sponsorship the league changed its title for 2015–16 season to League Parimatch. The competition commenced on 17 July when Metalurh Zaporizhya hosted Zorya Luhansk in Zaporizhzhia. The first sixteen rounds were played before the winter break which began 6 December 2015; the competition resumed on 5 March 2016. The season concluded on 15 May 2016. Dynamo Kyiv are the defending champions. With the continuation of the Ukrainian crisis in the oblasts of Donetsk and Luhansk, the league remained at 14 teams after being cut from 16 in the 2013–14 season.
