FFA Private Bank is the generic name for two independent financial institutions respectively based in Dubai (DIFC), United Arab Emirates and in Beirut, Lebanon and specializing in the fields of capital markets, wealth management, investment banking and real estate services.

History and profile

Founded in 1994 as a Financial Brokerage House by Jean Riachi, FFA Private Bank SAL was granted a banking license in 2007 by Banque du Liban. [1]

FFA Private Bank (Dubai) Ltd, founded in 2006, is regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) and operates from within the Dubai International Financial Center. [2] Initially a subsidiary of FFA private Bank S.A.L., its ultimate parent company is today FFA Group Holding ltd, a Dubai based company registered in the DIFC. The change of control of FFA Private Bank (Dubai) ltd was completed in 2021, following a spin-off of the Lebanese group's international activities.

FFA Real Estate Ltd, fully owned by FFA Group Holding ltd, is actively involved in the development and management of real estate projects and properties across Europe, notably through FFA Real Estate GMBH, its German subsidiary.[ citation needed ]

Jean Riachi is the founder and current CEO and Chairman of the Board of FFA Private Bank, Lebanon's largest investment bank. He founded the company in 1994 as a regulated Financial institution. In 2007, the Company was granted a banking license, Jean Riachi is also the Chairman of FFA Private Bank Dubai Limited, the first Lebanese Financial Institution to get a license from the DFSA in the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC).

Banque Worms

The Banque Worms was a merchant bank founded by Hypolite Worms in 1928 as a division of Worms & Cie. The banking services division provided financing services to other branches of Worms & Cie, which were involved in ship building, shipping and the coal trade. During World War II (1939–45), Worms & Cie was placed under German supervision, and was subject to intense scrutiny after the war on suspicions of collaboration. The banking services division was spun off as the independent Banque Worms et Cie in 1964. The bank was nationalized in 1982 by the socialist government of François Mitterrand.
