In Norse mythology, Búri, an early ancestor of the Æsir. Búri was licked free from salty rime stones by the primeval cow Auðumbla over the course of three days. The Buri were a Germanic tribe mentioned in the Germania of Tacitus, where they initially "close the back" of the Marcomanni and Quadi of Bohemia and Moravia. It is said that their speech and customs were like those of the Suebi. It is a class 1 railway station and is the current terminus of the Thon Buri Branch Line. Near the station is a railway depot that keeps five functional steam locomotives operable for four special occasions. Thon Buri station is the only station in Bangkok that has railway semaphore signals still present on the station grounds.

Ton Samrong railway station is a railway station located in Thammasala Subdistrict, Nakhon Pathom City, Nakhon Pathom. It is a class 3 railway station located 44.301 km (27.5 mi) from Thon Buri railway station. Originally, the station was built 300 metres from the present-day location, near a curve. But it was moved possibly because it was difficult to expand the railway station into a railyard, and there was not enough space near a curve for building the double-track section.

Suan Son Pradiphat railway halt

Suan Son Pradiphat Railway Halt is a railway halt located in Nong Kae Subdistrict, Hua Hin District, Prachuap Khiri Khan. It is located 221.03 km (137.3 mi) from Thon Buri Railway Station. Nearby is Thailand's first automatic level crossing, which opened for use on August 7, 2010 by Abhisit Vejjajiva while he was a Prime Minister. An excursion train terminating here, runs from Bangkok every weekend.
