FactorDaily is an Indian digital media publication founded in 2016 [1] by Pankaj Mishra and Jayadevan PK. Mishra was formerly an Editor at TechCrunch and the Economic Times. The digital publication was launched with an intent to produce stories on the impact of technology on life in India. [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]

History

FactorDaily began publishing in May 2016, with daily reported stories on technology, culture and life in India.

Prior to its launch, the company had raised $1 million in seed funding from Accel India, Blume Ventures, Girish Mathrubootham of Freshdesk, Vijay Shekhar Sharma of PayTm, and Jay Vijayan of Tekion.

Josey Puliyenthuruthel John, formerly Managing Editor at Business Today and National Corporate Editor at Mint, later joined the company as a Consulting Editor.

In January 2017, FactorDaily launched its first Podcast called The Outliers. The inaugural episode featured a conversation with Manish Sharma of Printo on his journey starting up.

Its founders include Rohin Dharmakumar, Seema Singh, Sumanth Raghavendra and Ashish Mishra. PayTM founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma is an investor.

The Live Love Laugh Foundation is a non-profit organization that deals with mental health issues. It was founded in 2015 by Deepika Padukone as a non-profit NGO to bring awareness to mental health in India. In 2016, the organization launched a program called "You Are Not Alone". Facebook is working with the organization to prevent suicides from being livestreamed.

Scroll.in, simply referred to as Scroll, is an Indian digital news publication now owned by SCSN Pvt Ltd. It publishes content in English language and used to have a Hindi newsfeed as well. Founded in 2014, the website and its journalists have won several national and international awards including four Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards and the CPJ International Press Freedom Awards.

Raqib Hameed Naik is a Kashmiri journalist. In 2020, he relocated to the United States. He is the founder of Hindutva Watch, a research project that documents hate crimes and hate speeches against religious minorities in India.
