A mockumentary, fake documentary or docu-comedy is a type of film or television show depicting fictional events but presented as a documentary.
Erica Lei Leerhsen is an American actress. She first gained recognition for her leading part in the moderately successful horror sequel Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 (2000). Her work led her to take on a recurring role in the first season of The Guardian and star in the horror hit The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003). She has since appeared in numerous films of that genre, including Wrong Turn 2: Dead End (2007), Lonely Joe (2009) and The Butterfly Room (2012). She has also acted in the Woody Allen films Hollywood Ending (2002), Anything Else (2003) and Magic in the Moonlight (2014) as well as in Allen's play A Second-Hand Memory (2004).

Lily Rabe is an American actress. She is best known for her multiple roles on the FX anthology horror series American Horror Story (2011–2021). For her performance as Portia in the Broadway production of The Merchant of Venice, she received a nomination for the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play.
Jordan Haworth Peele is an American actor, comedian, and filmmaker. He is best known for his film and television work in the comedy and horror genres. Peele's breakout role came in 2003, when he was hired as a cast member on the Fox sketch comedy series Mad TV, where he spent five seasons, leaving the show in 2008. In the following years, he and his frequent Mad TV collaborator, Keegan-Michael Key, created and starred in their own Comedy Central sketch comedy series Key & Peele (2012–2015). The series was critically acclaimed, winning two Primetime Emmy Awards and a Peabody Award. The two wrote, produced, and starred in the comedy film Keanu (2016), appeared together as FBI agents in the first season of FX's anthology series Fargo, and had starring voice roles together in the animated films Storks (2016) and Toy Story 4 (2019).
Stuart Stone is a Canadian film, television, and voice-over actor as well as a producer of television, film and music. He is best known for his roles as Ronald Fisher in the 2001 cult film, Donnie Darko and Ralphie Tennelli on The Magic School Bus animated television series from 1994 to 1997. Stone has also toured as a comedian and rapper.
Birdemic: Shock and Terror is a 2010 American independent romantic thriller-horror film written, directed, and executive produced by James Nguyen, and starring Alan Bagh and Whitney Moore. Inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds, Birdemic tells the story of a romance between the two main characters as their small town is attacked by birds. It also was inspired by the environmental documentary An Inconvenient Truth, which led to the film having an environmental message.
Antonio Nappo is a Canadian actor. He is best known for his roles in Four Brothers, Saw II, Land of the Dead, Bad Blood, and Born to be Blue. He also is the voice of Jimmy Falcone (McDougal) in Fugget About It.
Birdemic 2: The Resurrection is a 2013 American satirical romantic thriller-horror film directed and story & screenplay by James Nguyen and produced by Jeff Gross. It's the sequel to Nguyen's 2010 film Birdemic: Shock and Terror. This film, as with its predecessor, has been considered one of the worst films of all time and features mainly self-referential humor about the reception of the previous film. Taking place two years after the first Birdemic, the film follows another mass bird attack caused by global warming, this time in Hollywood.
The Last Podcast on the Left is a weekly podcast on the Last Podcast Network featuring comedian and podcast host Ben Kissel, podcast producer and researcher Marcus Parks, and comedian and actor Henry Zebrowski, all of whom are longtime friends. Episodes have explored the topics of serial killers, conspiracy theories, UFO sightings, ghosts, cryptids, the occult, and readings of fan-submitted creepypastas. The name is a reference to the 1972 horror movie The Last House on the Left.
Ready or Not is a 2019 American black comedy horror film directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett and written by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy. It stars Samara Weaving, Adam Brody, Mark O'Brien, Henry Czerny, and Andie MacDowell. It follows Grace (Weaving), a newlywed who is hunted by her spouse's wealthy Satan-worshipping family as part of a wedding night ritual.
The VelociPastor is a 2017 American comedy horror film written, directed, and edited by Brendan Steere. The plot follows pastor Doug Jones who becomes infected by an artifact, resulting in him turning into a velociraptor when he becomes angry. After screening at the B-Movie, Underground, and Trash (BUT) Film Festival on August 31, 2018, the film received a wide release in the United States on August 13, 2019, by Wild Eye Releasing.
Horror Noire: A History of Black Horror is a 2019 American documentary film directed by Xavier Burgin and based on the 2011 non-fiction book Horror Noire: Blacks in American Horror Films from the 1890s to Present by Robin R. Means Coleman. The film examines the relationship between African-American history and the evolution of the horror film genre, and the roles that African-American people have played in the genre's development. It features interviews with Coleman, along with such figures as actors Keith David, Tony Todd, and Rachel True, director Jordan Peele, and author Tananarive Due.
Dead Trigger is a 2017 American science fiction action horror film directed by Mike Cuff and Scott Windhauser, they was also both writers with Heinz Treschnitzer. The film is based on the mobile game of the same name. The film stars Dolph Lundgren, Autumn Reeser, Brooke Johnston, Chris Galya, Romeo Miller and Isaiah Washington.
Sugar Daddy is a 2020 Canadian drama film, directed by Wendy Morgan. The film stars Kelly McCormack as Darren, a talented but struggling young singer-songwriter who decides to sign up for a paid dating service to make extra money.
The Changed is a 2021 American science fiction thriller film directed by Michael Mongillo and starring Tony Todd. The plot centers around a group of ordinary people that band together in a suburban home to battle imposters who have replaced their families, friends, and neighbors.
Vandits is a Canadian crime comedy film, directed by Stuart Stone and released in 2022. The film stars Tony Nappo as Sheldon, the leader of a small-time gang of stoners in Selkirk, Manitoba, who hatch a plan to rob a bingo hall on Christmas Eve, only to become trapped in a time loop in which their plan goes awry in a completely different manner each time they relive the heist.
