Faran Moradi

Faran Moradi is a Canadian film and television writer and director from London, Ontario. [1] He is most noted for his debut feature film Tehranto , for which he received a Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Editing at the 11th Canadian Screen Awards in 2023. [2]

He previously directed the short films Broken, Holiday for the Poor, Covert Delivery, Through the Divide and Blackpowder and Guilt, and episodes of the television series Odd Squad and Holly Hobbie .

At the 2022 Forest City Film Festival, he was the winner of the Project Pitch competition for his screenplay Cry Wolf. [3]

Thomas Antony Olajide, sometimes also credited as Thomas Olajide, is a Canadian actor from Vancouver, British Columbia. He is most noted for his performance in the 2021 film Learn to Swim, for which he received a Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Actor at the 10th Canadian Screen Awards in 2022, and as co-creator with Tawiah M'carthy and Stephen Jackman-Torkoff of Black Boys, a theatrical show about Black Canadian LGBTQ+ identities which was staged by Buddies in Bad Times in 2016. The Forest City Film Festival is a film festival located in London, Ontario. Founded in 2016, the Forest City Film Festival centres on exhibiting the work of filmmakers from Southwestern Ontario in juried competition for features, shorts, documentaries, short animations and other categories, although it also screens a selection of other Canadian and international films out of competition.

Tehranto is a Canadian romantic comedy-drama film, directed by Faran Moradi and released in 2022. The film stars Sammy Azero and Mo Zeighami as Badi Alavi and Sharon Moridi, university students in the Iranian Canadian community in Toronto, Ontario, who meet and fall in love despite the disapproval of their family and friends.
