Farid Suleman has been a director of Fairway Group Holdings since 2012. [2] Before that, he was the chairman and CEO of Citadel Broadcasting from March 2002 until the company's acquisition by Cumulus Media in 2011. [3] He previously spent 16 years working for Infinity Broadcasting Corporation (now CBS Radio) and 12 years at Westwood One. [4] [5]
Suleman is a graduate of the University of Nottingham in England, and is a chartered accountant and a CPA. [6]
Suleman was a director of Westwood One from February 1994 to February 2006, and executive vice president and CFO from February 1994 to March 2002. Suleman was also appointed to the positions of senior vice president and chief financial officer of the CBS Station Group in June 1997. In CBS, he was later named senior vice president, finance, in August 1998. [7]
He was executive vice president, chief financial officer, treasurer and a director of Infinity Broadcasting, one of the largest advertising companies in the United States, from September 1998 to February 2001 when Infinity was acquired by Viacom. From February 2001 to February 2002, Suleman was appointed president and chief executive officer of Infinity.
Suleman was the chairman and CEO of Citadel Broadcasting from March 2002 until the company's acquisition by Cumulus Media in 2011. [8] In late 2004, Suleman made headlines by cutting Howard Stern's radio show from four Citadel stations, [9] citing Stern's frequent discussions regarding his upcoming move to Sirius Satellite Radio. In 2007, he was nominated for the Group Executive of the Year award by Radio & Records magazine. [10]

As of June 2019, Cumulus lists ownership of 428 stations in 87 media markets. It also owns and operates Westwood One. Its headquarters are located in Atlanta, Georgia. Its subsidiaries include Cumulus Broadcasting LLC, Cumulus Licensing LLC and Broadcast Software International Inc.
Melvin Alan "Mel" Karmazin is an American executive. He was the president of Infinity Broadcasting and eventually became the president and CEO of CBS television. From 2004–2012, he was the CEO of Sirius Radio. In October 2012, Karmazin announced that he would be stepping down on February 1, 2013. Upon his departure, John C. Malone took over Karmazin's role at SiriusXM.
Cumulus Media Networks was an American radio network owned and operated by Cumulus Media. From 2011 until its merger with Westwood One, it controlled many of the radio assets formerly belonging to the American Broadcasting Company (ABC), which was broken up in 2007; Cumulus owned the portion of the network that was purchased by Citadel Broadcasting that year.

Infinity Broadcasting Corporation was a radio company that existed from 1972 until 2005. It was founded by Michael A. Wiener and Gerald Carrus. It became associated with popular radio personalities like Howard Stern, Opie and Anthony, Don Imus and Mike Francesa. Infinity merged with CBS Corporation in 1997 and later became part of Viacom in 2000, when CBS and Viacom merged, serving as the radio division of CBS. After the Viacom split in 2005, Infinity changed its name to CBS Radio.
