Faridpur railway station is located in Faridpur District of Dhaka division, Bangladesh. It is a railway station located at Lakshmipur in Faridpur. [1]

History

Faridpur Railway Station was built in 1899. This section from Rajbari to Faridpur was closed in 1997 on the pretext of losses. Later the government decided the resume of the construction of the railway and in 2010, it resumed at a cost of about ৳90 crore. The construction was completed in 2014. After 17 years, the train service started again in 2014. [2]

The Uttara Ganabhaban is an 18th-century (1734) royal palace also known as Dighapatia Palace as it was formerly the seat of the Dighapatia Raj, an aristocratic landed estate in the East Bengal of India. It is a fine example of a jomidar bari. It was built by Raja Doyaram who was the Dewan (minister) of Rani Bhavanee. It has a round clock on its front gate with a large bell and a clock room. The clock was imported from Italy. It also has a beautiful garden full of various foreign trees and Italian marble stone statues of women. It is located near Natore town in North Bengal. It serves as the principal residence of the Bangladeshi Prime Minister in the northern part of the country. It has been used as a ceremonial site for receiving foreign ambassadors.

Television is one of the most popular forms of media and information in Bangladesh. It was one of the first countries in South Asia to introduce television on 25 December 1964, in the then East Pakistan under the state-owned television network Pakistan Television Corporation in its capital, Dhaka. After the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971, the Dhaka television station of PTV was renamed to Bangladesh Television, which had a monopoly on the country's television industry until 1997, with the launch of ATN Bangla on satellite television. Since then, the number of privately owned television channels saw a tremendous rise in the Bangladeshi television market.
