The Faroese Women's Volleyball Championship is an annual competition of the Faroese women's volleyball teams. It has been held since 1969. The Competitions are held in three divisions - Premier League, Division 1 and Division 2. The championships are organised by the Faroese Volleyball Union. [1] [2]

Formula of the competition

The 2021/22 Premier League championship was held in two stages - preliminary and final. In the preliminary stage the teams played in 3 rounds. The top two teams advanced to the final and in a series of two matches to determine the champion. In case of a tie, a "golden" set was provided. For victories 3-0 and 3-1 teams get 3 points, for winning 3-2 - 2 points, for defeat 2-3 - 1 point, for defeats 1:3 and 0-3 no points are awarded. Six teams participated in the 2021/22 Premier League Championship: "Flair" (Torshavn), SI (Sørvagur), "Drottur" (Midvagur), KIF (Kollafjörður), TB (Tvörojri), Mjölnir (Klaksvik). Flair won the championship title, beating SI 1-1 (3-2, 1–3) in the final series, the "gold" set 15–12. Third place went to Drottour.

Víkingur is a Faroese semi-professional football club based in Leirvík. The club was founded in 2008 after the merger of GÍ Gøta and Leirvík ÍF. They play in the stadium is in Norðragøta. Both villages are part of the same municipality Eysturkommuna, located on the island of Eysturoy and about 5 kilometers away from each other. The club won the Faroese championship for the first time in the 2016 season. In the 2017 season, Vikingur won the championship again.

1943 Meistaradeildin was the second season of Meistaradeildin, the top tier of the Faroese football league system. The teams were separated in four groups based on geographical criteria; the winner of each group would qualify for the semi-finals. Each group had its own qualification format. TB Tvøroyri defeated MB Miðvágur 3–2 on aggregate in the championship final.

EB/Streymur were the defending champions, having won their fourth cup title the previous year. The winner of the competition qualified for the first qualifying round of the 2013–14 UEFA Europa League.

The 2013 Faroe Islands Cup was the 59th edition of the Faroe Islands domestic football cup. It started on 30 March 2013 and ended with the final on 24 August 2013. Víkingur Gøta were the defending champions, having won their second cup title the previous year. The winner of the competition qualified for the first qualifying round of the 2014–15 UEFA Europa League.
