FatLip Recordings was an independent record label owned, operated and releasing music by the band Curve.
The label was only active when Curve wished to release music independently. It was first used in 1996. Curve had recently reunited, having been split up for two years, and were without a record label, as their previous deal with Anxious Records had expired. They therefore self-released the 'Pink Girl With the Blues' single on their own FatLip Recordings label. The label became dormant when the band signed with Universal Records.
Curve's relationship with Universal was strained, with the situation becoming untenable after Universal refused to release Curve's latest album, Gift , in 2000. Curve were completed their contract with Universal in early 2001 without Gift being released. [1] Freed from record label control, Curve began putting MP3s of new and old material their site for fans to download. These, along with some new tracks, were collected together on CD in Open Day at the Hate Fest , which was released through the band's website later in 2001. The brisk sales of the CD made Universal realise that there was a market for Gift and the album was finally released, but only in the United States.
The FatLip brand was once again used for Curve's next album, The New Adventures of Curve , which was released through the band's website in 2002.
A few weeks after The New Adventures of Curve was released, Gift was finally released in the United Kingdom. It was released by Artful Records (who had a distribution deal with Universal), though FatLip is also named on the packaging. [2] A similar arrangement was used for the 'Perish' single. [3]

Artful Dodger is a UK garage duo, originally based in the city Southampton, which became famous for its 2-step hits and gave Craig David's career a boost after he appeared on their 1999 number-two hit "Re-Rewind". They scored seven consecutive UK top-20 hit singles from 1999 to 2001. The band is named after a character in the Charles Dickens novel Oliver Twist, because of the many bootlegs they made in the early days. They are referred to in the Streets' single "Let's Push Things Forward". Many Artful Dodger tracks can be found on the UK garage compilation album series Pure Garage, mixed by DJ EZ.
The Waterboys are a Scottish-Irish folk rock band formed in Edinburgh in 1983 by Scottish musician Mike Scott. The band's membership, past and present, has been composed mainly of musicians from Scotland, Ireland, Wales and England. Mike Scott has remained as the only constant member throughout the band's career. They have explored a number of different styles, but their music is mainly a mix of folk music with rock and roll. They dissolved in 1993 when Scott departed to pursue a solo career. The group reformed in 2000, and continue to release albums and to tour worldwide. Scott emphasises a continuity between The Waterboys and his solo work, saying that "To me there's no difference between Mike Scott and the Waterboys; they both mean the same thing. They mean myself and whoever are my current travelling musical companions."
The Electric Soft Parade are an English psychedelic pop band from Brighton, comprising brothers Alex and Thomas White, the creative core of the band, as well as a number of other musicians with whom they record and perform live, most recently including Andrew Mitchell and Damo Waters, as well as long-standing bass/keyboard player, Matthew Twaites.
Curve were an English alternative rock and electronica duo from London, formed in 1990 and split in 2005. The band consisted of Toni Halliday and Dean Garcia. Halliday also wrote the lyrics of their songs and they both contributed to songwriting. An important collaborator was producer Alan Moulder, who helped them to shape their blend of heavy beats and densely layered guitar tracks set against Halliday's vocals.

A New Day Yesterday is the debut studio album by American blues rock musician Joe Bonamassa. Recorded at Pyramid Recording Studios in Ithaca, New York, it was produced by Tom Dowd and released on October 24, 2000 by independent record label Okeh in tandem with Epic Records and 550 Music. The album registered at number 9 on the US Billboard Top Blues Albums chart and spawned the singles "Miss You, Hate You" in 2001 and "Colour and Shape" in 2002.
Lemuria is an American rock band formed in 2004 and originally based in Buffalo, New York. After a series of singles and EPs, Lemuria has consistently released albums since 2007 and has toured in the U.S. and internationally. The band's most recent effort, "Recreational Hate", was recorded by four-time Grammy award-winning producer/engineer Chris Shaw and released on the band's own record label, Turbo Worldwide, licensed through Asian Man Records in the U.S. and Big Scary Monsters in the U.K. The album was announced December 11, 2017, and was simultaneously received by many of the band's fans as a result of a "secret LP" placed for sale on their website months prior. "Recreational Hate" was made available digitally on December 2017, with physical copies released in February 2018.

"Perish" is the first single from the fourth studio album Gift by alternative rock band Curve. It was released on 28 October 2002 only on CD format and it reached #168 in the UK singles chart.

Janus Stark are an English experimental punk rock band from Peterborough, England. Their album, Great Adventure Cigar, was highly rated by Foo Fighters and Die Toten Hosen and was a fusion of Punk rock, hard rock, heavy metal and alternative with influences from Helmet to The Ruts to The Beatles to The Clash. Formed by former English Dogs/UK Subs guitarist Gizz Butt, Janus Stark released their album Great Adventure Cigar in 1998 on Earache Records. Butt was also playing guitar for The Prodigy while they were touring on the back of Fat Of The Land. Their name comes from a character, Janus Stark, in the seventies comic books Smash and Valiant. They are also known for Butt's guitar playing. Ben Hughes commented on RPM online "The thing that sets Janus Stark apart from their contemporaries is the fact that Gizz is a shredder. While ‘Angel In The Flames’ is littered with turn of the Century pop punk sensibilities, buzzsaw guitars and full band harmonies, there is a more technical and aggressive element in place thanks to Gizz’s guitar histrionics. Yet, while the lyrics are socially and politically aware, and the riffs crunchy, it’s the melodies that always shine through, they are pure sugar for the soul."
