Fatehgarh, Uttar Pradesh, India derives its name from an old fort. Fatehgarh remained a military station of considerable importance and in 1802 it became the headquarters of the Governor General's Agent for the ceded provinces. In 1818 a gun carriage factory was established here.

It is the administrative headquarters of Farrukhabad District. Fatehgarh derives its name from an old fort. It is a small city with no significant industrial activity. Asia's largest potato market located in Farrukhabad and holy place of buddhism(sankhisha)is also located there. The Indian Army has a big establishment there in the form of The Rajput Regimental Center, 114 Infantry Battalion TA and The Sikh Light Infantry Center.

A gun carriage is a frame and mount that supports the gun barrel of an artillery piece, allowing it to be manoeuvred and fired.

Scholars have explained them as Kushan sculptures of the Mathura school of the 1st and 2nd centuries AD. These treasures have since been displayed for art lovers and historians in Sanghol Museum. Many of the art pieces from this museum often go on display as special exhibits at various museums around the world.
