Fathallah Abd Al-Latif Al-Zani is a Libyan politician who has served as acting Minister of Foreign Affairs since August 2023. [1] He had previously served as youth minister since 2021. [2]
He addressed the General debate of the seventy-eighth session of the United Nations General Assembly in September 2023. [3]
Libya,officially the State of Libya,is a country in the Maghreb region of North Africa. It is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the north,Egypt to the east,Sudan to the southeast,Chad to the south,Niger to the southwest,Algeria to the west,and Tunisia to the northwest. The country's official religion is Islam,with 96.6% of the Libyan population being Sunni Muslims. The official language of Libya is Arabic,with vernacular Libyan Arabic being spoken most widely. The majority of Libya's population is Arab. The largest city and capital,Tripoli,is located in north-western Libya and contains over a million of Libya's seven million people.
Imbarek Shamekh is a Libyan politician and bureaucrat. He served as the Secretary-General of General People's Congress of Libya from 2009 to 2010. He previously served as Deputy Prime Minister from 2008 to 2009,and Prime Minister from 2000 to 2003.

Ali Abd-al-Aziz al-Isawi is a Libyan politician who is a leading figure of the National Transitional Council of Libya and was the vice-chairman of the executive board of the NTC until his dismissal along with the board's other ministers on 8 August 2011. He previously served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs for the NTC. He also was secretary of the General People's Committee of Libya (GPCO) for Economy,Trade and Investment,and was the youngest minister to fill such a post. He was appointed to this post in January 2007. Before taking the ministerial position,he founded the Centre for Export Development in 2006 and became the first director general for it. He also assumed the position of director general for the Ownership expansion program in 2005. He began his political career as a staff member and then as a diplomat in the Foreign Ministry until 2005.
The Libyan Investment Authority is a government-managed sovereign wealth fund and holding company headquartered in Tripoli,Libya. It was established on August 28,2006,by Decree 208 of the General People's Committee of Libya (GPC),after the lifting of economic sanctions that had previously precluded foreign investment in Libya. The LIA oversees and manages investments in various areas including agriculture,real estate,infrastructure,oil and gas and in shares and bonds. It is Africa's largest sovereign wealth fund. The fund is a member of the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds and is therefore signed up to the Santiago Principles on best practice in managing sovereign wealth funds. In September 2023,the fund has US$67 billion in assets under management.
Moussa Muhammad El-Haj Nemr Koussa is a Libyan political figure and diplomat,who held several high-profile positions in the Libyan government,lastly as Minister of Foreign Affairs from March 2009,into the Libyan Civil War,when he resigned his position on 30 March 2011.
Mahmoud Jibril el-Warfally,also transcribed Jabril or Jebril or Gebril,was a Libyan politician who served as the interim Prime Minister of Libya for seven and a half months during the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi and the Libyan Civil War,chairing the executive board of the National Transitional Council (NTC) from 5 March to 23 October 2011. He also served as the Head of International Affairs. As of July 2012,Jibril was the head of one of the largest political parties in Libya,the National Forces Alliance.
The foreign relations of Libya were largely reset at the end of the Libyan Civil War,with the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi and the Second Libyan Civil War. The current Minister of Foreign Affairs since 15 March 2021 is Najla Mangoush. Although many foreign embassies in Tripoli closed down in 2014 due to the fighting,by the end of 2017 thirty diplomatic missions were reopened in the Libyan capital.

Bashir Saleh Bashir is a former aide of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi of Toubou origin. He was head of the Libyan African Portfolio,a sovereign wealth fund that invested Libya's oil wealth mostly in sub-Saharan Africa,and served as an intermediary between Libya,Africa and France. Bashir was captured after the Battle of Tripoli during the Libyan Civil War,but later escaped. Libya demanded that he be extradited because it was believed he was in France. Bashir spent Libya's oil money solely for the Gaddafi family,buying up hotels,mineral resources and shares in companies,eventually becoming what some Libyan officials and financial experts describe as one of the largest single investors in Africa. Libyan authorities believe that finding him is the key to finding a missing $7 billion in Libyan funds. He is a close associate of French businessman Jean-Yves Ollivier.

Fayez Mustafa al-Sarraj is a Libyan politician who served as the Chairman of the Presidential Council of Libya and Head of Government of the Government of National Accord from 2016 to 2021,which was formed on 17 December 2015 under the Libyan Political Agreement. He has been a member of the Parliament of Tripoli.
The Government of National Accord was an interim government for Libya that was formed under the terms of the Libyan Political Agreement,a United Nations–led initiative,signed on 17 December 2015. The agreement was unanimously endorsed by the United Nations Security Council,which welcomed the formation of a Presidency Council for Libya and recognized the Government of National Accord as the sole legitimate executive authority in Libya. On 31 December 2015,Chairman of the Libyan House of Representatives,Aguila Saleh Issa declared his support for the Libyan Political Agreement. The General National Congress has criticized the GNA on multiple fronts as biased in favor of its rival parliament the House of Representatives.
Libyan-Turkish relations are the foreign relations between Libya and Turkey. While this relationship cannot currently be attributed to one government in Libya,generally speaking it is a contested relationship between Turkey and the pro-Turkish Government of National Accord. Libya has a functional embassy in Ankara and Turkey has its counterpart in Tripoli. Turkey currently occupies bases in Libya with Al-Watiya Air Base being a major airbase in the west,and Port of Misrata being most notable naval base acquired but contested during the 2020 Turkish military intervention in the Second Libyan Civil War.
Ahmed Gaddaf al-Dam is the cousin and aide of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. He is Libya's former Special Envoy to Egypt and a leading figure of the Gaddafi regime. He was a key member of Gaddafi's inner circle.
