United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) (Arabic: جامعة الإمارات العربية المتحدة) is a public research university located in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. Founded in 1976 by the country's first President, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, it is the oldest university in the United Arab Emirates and offers courses in various subjects up to post-graduation.

Dr. Hissa Abdulla Ahmed Al-Otaiba is a diplomat from the United Arab Emirates who serves as ambassador to Switzerland since June 2022, having previously held this position in the Netherlands. As of 2012 she was Ambassador to the Holy See. Al-Otaiba was born in Abu Dhabi and has lived in Egypt, Tunisia, Brazil, France, New York City, Spain, Switzerland and the Netherlands. On 10 January 2017, multiple bombings in Afghanistan occurred at government and tribal establishments during the renewed War in Afghanistan. The Taliban claimed responsibility for all but one of the attacks, which targeted a United Arab Emirates diplomatic mission. In total, at least 64 to at least 88 people were killed and at least 94 were wounded, with at least three attackers also being killed. Other attacks may have taken place.

Martina Anna Tkadlec Strong is an American diplomat who has served as the United States ambassador to the United Arab Emirates since October 4, 2023. She previously served as the de facto United States ambassador to Saudi Arabia from January 20, 2021 until April 16, 2023.
