He was surprisingly overlooked for selection to the Pakistan test cricket team for over a decade despite being a prolific run scorer in domestic first-class matches. With respect to career batting average, Fawad is among the all-time top 50 batsmen in first-class cricket worldwide; he is the sole Pakistani on the list.

The Legend of Maula Jatt is a 2022 Pakistani Punjabi-language action drama film directed by Bilal Lashari and written by Nasir Adeeb. The film is an adaptation and a soft reboot of the 1979 Lollywood film Maula Jatt. It is produced by Ammara Hikmat and Asad Jamil Khan under the production banner of Lashari Films and Encyclomedia. It is based on the characters and stories by Nasir Adeeb. The film stars Fawad Khan as the titular character with Hamza Ali Abbasi, Humaima Malik, Faris Shafi and Mahira Khan. In the film, a local folk hero named Maula Jatt takes on his arch nemesis and the leader of a brutal clan, Noori Natt.

Satrangi was a 2008 Pakistani travel adventure drama series produced and directed by Imran Hussain, which broadcast on Geo TV. Jawad Daud wrote the drama. This drama was the first of its kind as it focussed on what youngsters think, what they are going through and how their families do not understand their problems. Though this series did not get much publicity, youngsters loved it as they could easily relate to the story.
