The Wiradjuri people are a group of Aboriginal Australian people from central New South Wales,united by common descent through kinship and shared traditions. They survived as skilled hunter-fisher-gatherers,in family groups or clans,and many still use knowledge of hunting and gathering techniques as part of their customary life.
The Murrumbidgee River is a major tributary of the Murray River within the Murray–Darling basin and the second longest river in Australia. It flows through the Australian state of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory,descending 1,500 metres (4,900 ft) over 1,485 kilometres (923 mi),generally in a west-northwesterly direction from the foot of Peppercorn Hill in the Fiery Range of the Snowy Mountains towards its confluence with the Murray River near Boundary Bend.

For some people and groups,it has been described as a reclaiming of Indigenous language and culture,as opposed to relying on European titles such as "Aboriginal". The term is also used with reference to institutions involving Koori communities and individuals,such as the Koori Court,Koori Radio and Koori Knockout.

Kooringal is a suburb of Wagga Wagga,New South Wales,Australia. Kooringal is thought to mean "Side of a Hill" in the Wiradjuri aboriginal language. Kooringal is located approximately 4 km from the CBD along Lake Albert Road. Kooringal is the basis for growth in the eastern section of Wagga Wagga. Kooringal High School,on Ziegler Avenue is the largest secondary school in Wagga Wagga. The Kooringal area is also home to other schools including Kooringal Public School,Sturt Public School and the Sacred Heart School. Kooringal has a large suburban shopping centre known as Kooringal Mall and it consists of a Woolworths supermarket,McDonald's,Subway,Domino's Pizza,Australia Post retail store and various specialty stores.
A Koori Court is a separate division of the Magistrates',County and Children's Courts of Victoria,Australia. The Koori Court (Magistrates),Children's Koori Court,and County Koori Court hear selected cases,where Indigenous Australians have identified as such and requested the case be transferred to it. The first Koori Court was established in Shepparton in 2002. Koori Court aims to reduce recidivism by involving Elders,other respected persons in the Aboriginal community,and court advisors to provide information about the background of the defendant,and to advise on culturally appropriate sentences.
Wiradjuri is a Pama–Nyungan language of the Wiradhuric subgroup. It is the traditional language of the Wiradjuri people,an Aboriginal Australian people of New South Wales,Australia. Wiraiari and Jeithi may have been dialects.
Linda Jean Burney is an Australian politician,a member of the Australian Labor Party (ALP) and the member of Parliament (MP) for the division of Barton since 2016. She was the minister for Indigenous Australians from 2022 to July 2024. She was formerly a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the district of Canterbury from 2003 to 2016 and previously a teacher. Burney is the first known woman to identify as Aboriginal to be elected to the Australian House of Representatives.
A Bachelor of Pharmacy is a graduate academic degree in the field of pharmacy. In many countries,this degree is a prerequisite for registration to practice as a pharmacist. Since both PharmB and PharmD are prerequisites to license in most Western countries they are considered equivalent. In many Western countries,foreign graduates with BPharm,PharmB,or BS Pharm practice similarly as PharmD graduates. It is analogous to an MBBS vs. an MD,where MBBS is the foreign equivalent of MD. The degree provides training to understand the properties and impacts of medicines and develop the skills required to counsel patients about their use.
The Koori Mail is an Australian newspaper written and owned by Indigenous Australians since 1991. It is published fortnightly in printed form and electronic copies are available. Owned by five community-based Aboriginal organisations based in Lismore,in northern New South Wales,its profits are spent on community projects and needs. "Koori" is a demonym for the Aboriginal peoples of parts of New South Wales and Victoria.

Jeanine Leane is a Wiradjuri poet and activist from southwest New South Wales. She is an associate professor in creative writing at the University of Melbourne.
Kathleen Frances Clapham is an Indigenous Australian anthropologist and health researcher,who was the recipient of an Order of Australia,for services to "indigenous community health and tertiary education". She is the founding director of both the Ngarruwan Ngadjul:First People's Health and Wellbeing Research Centre as well as Professor of Indigenous Health at the University of Wollongong.
