Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi is a polytechnic located in Bauchi, a traditional emirate and the capital of Bauchi State, North-East of Nigeria. [1] [2] [3]

Background

Federal Polytechnic Bauchi was established in July 1979 through Decree 33(Act 33) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria alongside six other institutions with a mandate to run full-time and/or part-time programmes on Technology, Applied Science, Commerce, Management and in other relevant fields needed for driving the development of Nigeria. [4] It is situated at Gwallameji village, Bauchi - Dass Road. [5] The current Rector of the polytechnic is Alh. Sani Usman. The institutions which offers programmes leading to the award of National Diploma and Higher National Diploma was granted approval in 2020 to run nine degree courses in affiliation with Abubakar Tafewa Balewa University, Bauchi. Akperan Orshi Polytechnic, Yandev is a tertiary institution in Yandev near Gboko, Benue State, Nigeria. The college dates back to 1926 when the British colonial government established a farm training center at Yandev, then in Tiv province of the Northern Region. In 1973, the Benue-Plateau State government upgraded the center to a school of Agriculture with an initial enrollment of 23 students. In 1983, the Department of Agriculture of the Murtala College of Arts, Science and Technology, Makurdi was merged with the school. In April 1991, the school was renamed the Akperan Orshi College of Agriculture, Yandev after Dr. James Akperan Orshi, the late monarch of the Tiv nation. It was established in 1991 through a merger of the College of Preliminary Studies Yola and the Staff Development Institute, Numan.
