Fernando Fonseca Ferreira (born 29 December 1993), also known as Fernando Fonseca, Fernando Ferreira or simply Fernando, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Tombense. [1]
Developed by Grêmio Barueri, Fonseca began his career as a substitute in some matches for the club and for Criciúma EC. He made his professional debut for Moto Club and also played for Luverdense, before moving to Deportivo Tepic of the Ascenso MX. Fonseca returned to Brazilian football with a second spell at Moto Club, Itumbiara and Boa Esporte, where he competed in the 2019 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C. [2] On 16 September 2020, he arrived at Joinville EC, where he became champion of the Copa Santa Catarina and Recopa Catarinense. [3] [4] [5]
In the 2022 season he played for Brasil de Pelotas in the Campeonato Gaúcho, for FC Cascavel in Série D and for Figueirense in the Copa Santa Catarina. [6] On 28 November 2022, he was announced by SER Caxias as a reinforcement for the following season. [7] He had a remarkable spell at the club, reaching runner-up in the 2023 Campeonato Gaúcho and promotion in the 2023 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D. [8]
On 30 October 2023, Fonseca signed with Ypiranga FC from Erechim. [9] On 4 January 2025, he was announced by Floresta EC in the club Instagram profile. [10] After competing in the Ceará state championship, Fernando was hired by Tombense. [11]
Joinville
