Fernando Tinajero Villamar (born 1940, Quito) is an Ecuadorian novelist, essayist, and university professor. [1] In the 1960s, he was one of the most active members of Tzantzismo a cultural vanguard movement which had roots in the Cuban revolution. He was the 2015 recipient of the Eugenio Espejo Prize in literature awarded by the Ecuadorian president. [2]

Constanté's works are abstract in nature and consist of many colors which meld together amongst loosely drawn geometric lines. Constanté stated that his favorite colors were red, orange and blue and they are the colors that are typically more dominant in his work.

Filoteo Samaniego Salazar was an Ecuadorian novelist, poet, historian, translator, and diplomat. He became a member of the Ecuadorian Academy of Language in 1984, and was its secretary from 1996–2006. He was awarded Ecuador's most prestigious prize, the Premio Eugenio Espejo, in 2001. Samaniego's diplomatic career began in 1949 as the chief of staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ecuador.
