Feuermusik was a Canadian experimental jazz duo based in Toronto, Ontario, active in the 2000s. [1] [2] Consisting of former Rockets Red Glare members Jeremy Strachan and Gus Weinkauf, the band's instrumentation consisted exclusively of saxophone and a set of amplified plastic and metal buckets for percussion. History

Strachan and Weinkauf formed Feuermusik in 2004. [4] The band's debut album, Goodbye Lucille, was released independently in 2006. [5] [6] It received substantial play on community and campus radio stations. [7] The song "Doppelspiel" was later named as a shortlisted nominee for the 2007 Echo Songwriting Prize. [8]

Their second album, No Contest, followed in 2008. [1] They continued to perform in the Toronto area, sometimes with additional musicians. [9] In 2009 the pair performed at Sappyfest in Sackville, [10] and in 2010 they performed at the Halifax Pop Explosion festival. [11]

In 2002, Jud Haynes joined the band as bass guitarist until 2007. In 2005, Mike Bigelow joined on keyboards until 2006, after which he played bass, until 2016. Since 2006, Jon Samuel has served as a backing vocalist, keyboardist, and guitarist, while Chris Bell has served as a backing vocalist and bass guitarist since 2016. Contrived is a Canadian indie rock band. Based in Halifax, Nova Scotia and Montreal, Quebec, the band consists of Mike Bigelow, Loel Campbell, Mike MacNeill, Tim D'Eon and Jon Samuel. Four of the five members are also in the band Wintersleep, and two were in Holy Fuck.
