The band formed in 1995. [2]

Awards

The band has been recognized through awards including receiving a nomination for the Grammy Award for Best Zydeco or Cajun Music Album for its album En Couleurs (2010). It also received the Big Easy Award for "Best Cajun Band". [3]

Personnel

Singer and rhythm guitarist Anna Laura Edmiston—a member of the band since 2003 [4] —left the band in 2012 [5] to pursue other interests. She was replaced by Kelli Jones-Savoy.

Founding member Chris Stafford unexpectedly passed away on May 2, 2024 [6] .

He is perhaps best known for his 1964 performance at the Newport Folk Festival with Gladius Thibodeaux and Vinus LeJeune, where the group received an enthusiastic response from over seventeen thousand audience members. He sang the song "Parlez Nous à Boire" in the 1981 cult film Southern Comfort, in which he had a small role.

The Red Stick Ramblers were a Cajun Music and Western Swing band formed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1999 while some of the members were attending Louisiana State University. The most recent line-up consisted of Linzay Young, Daniel Coolik, Chas Justus, Eric Frey, Blake Miller and Glenn Fields (drums). Dirk Powell is an American fiddler, banjo player, and singer. Powell was born in Oberlin, Ohio into a family with deep Kentucky roots. He has lived in Louisiana since 1992. He is considered one of the world's leading experts on traditional Appalachian fiddle and banjo styles. Powell is also a recording engineer and producer, with his own studio, the Cypress House, in Breaux Bridge, near Lafayette, Louisiana. The studio is in a converted 1850s Louisiana Creole home on Bayou Teche and focuses on vintage gear and audio..
