Finlanders is a Finnish schlager band. It has been active since 1984. The members of the band are Aarne Hartelin, Lasse Paasikko, Pasi Ketola, Juha Kangassalo and Juho Jokio. Their album Seikkailija, released in 2005, has been certified platinum in Finland. In addition, three of their other albums have been certified gold.
Nightwish is a Finnish symphonic metal band from Kitee. The band was formed in 1996 by lead songwriter and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, guitarist Emppu Vuorinen, and former lead singer Tarja Turunen. The band soon picked up drummer Jukka Nevalainen, and then bassist Sami Vänskä after the release of their debut album, Angels Fall First (1997). In 2001, Vänskä was replaced by Marko Hietala, who also took over the male vocalist role previously filled by Holopainen or guest singers.
Aleksis Kivi was a Finnish author who wrote the first significant novel in the Finnish language, Seitsemän veljestä in 1870. He is also known for his 1864 play Heath Cobblers. Although Kivi was among the very earliest authors of prose and lyrics in Finnish, he is still considered one of the greatest.
Seitsemän veljestä is the first and only novel by Aleksis Kivi, the national author of Finland. It is widely regarded as the first significant novel written in Finnish and by a Finnish-speaking author, and it is considered to be a real pioneer of Finnish realistic folklore. Today, some people still regard it as the greatest Finnish novel ever written. The deep significance of the work for Finnish culture has even been quoted internationally, and in a BBC article by Lizzie Enfield, for example, describes Kivi's Seitsemän veljestä as "the book that shaped a Nordic identity."

HIM was a Finnish gothic rock band from Helsinki. First formed in 1991 by vocalist Ville Valo and bassist Mikko "Mige" Paananen under the name His Infernal Majesty, the band broke up after only a few years, only to be reformed in 1995 by Valo and guitarist Mikko "Linde" Lindström. After being rejoined by Mige, as well as keyboardist Antto Melasniemi and drummer Juhana "Pätkä" Rantala, the band, now called HIM, released its debut album Greatest Lovesongs Vol. 666 in 1997. In 2000, now with drummer Mika "Gas Lipstick" Karppinen and keyboardist Juska Salminen, the band released Razorblade Romance, which reached the number one spot in Finland, Austria and Germany. The first single "Join Me in Death" also charted at number one in Finland and Germany, eventually going platinum and gold, respectively. Following the addition of Janne "Burton" Puurtinen on keyboards, HIM released Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights (2001) and Love Metal (2003). Both cracked the top ten in several countries and allowed the band to tour in the United Kingdom and the United States for the first time.
Kimmo Ilpo Juhani Laiho, better known by his stage name Elastinen, is a Finnish rap musician and also known as one of the founders and is the CEO of the Finnish independent rap label Rähinä Records. Together with his colleague Iso H, he founded the Finnish rap duo Fintelligens. He has also released five solo albums.
Mokoma is a Finnish thrash metal band formed in Lappeenranta, Finland, in 1996. Their music also has grindcore and death metal influences with traditional Finnish melancholy.

Keuhkot is a Finnish one man avantgarde band whose only member is Kake Puhuu from Pomarkku. Keuhkot started in 1988. Keuhkot's music has been described as post-punk, industrial or antimusic. Keuhkot concerts are performances in which Puhuu may perform from large bird nest boxes or from lecterns.

"Bamboléo" is a 1987 Spanish language song by Gitano-French band Gipsy Kings, from their eponymous album. The song was written by band members Tonino Baliardo, Chico Bouchikhi and Nicolas Reyes. It was arranged by Dominique Perrier. "Bamboleo" could be translated as "wobble" "swing" or "dangle" in Spanish.
Antti Railio is a Finnish rock and pop rock singer and vocalist in a number of Finnish bands, notably the power metal band Celesty, in addition to Diecell and The WildFire. After reaching the semi-finals in Finnish Idols (2007), and taking part in Kuorosota, he took part in season 2 of the Finnish music competition The Voice of Finland carrying the title in the final held on 26 April 2013.
Jukka Jalmari Virtanen was a Finnish entertainer and author. He worked as both a film and television director, actor and host. He was also an accomplished songwriter. Starting originally as a newspaper columnist, Virtanen began his television career in the 1950s and his film career in the 1960s.
