Finn Sebastian Carnduff (born 10 March 2004) is an English professional rugby union player. He plays as a lock and flanker for Leicester Tigers and has captained the England under-20 rugby union team.
Carnduff was a Leicester Tigers fan as a child before joining the club's academy. He initially played at full-back before becoming a second row player. [3] He attended Leicester Grammar School and played for Market Harborough Rugby Club, following in the footsteps of former England captain and head coach and Leicester second row Martin Johnson. [4] Carnduff is currently a student at Loughborough University. [5]
Capable of playing as a flanker or in the second row, [6] he made his debut for Leicester Tigers in March 2022 against London Irish in the Premiership Rugby Cup when he was 17 years-old. [7] [8] He made his Premiership Rugby debut for Leicester on the 6 May 2023 against Harlequins. [9] In April 2024, he was named in the Leicester starting XV in the league for the first time, against Northampton Saints. [10]
He was captain of the England national under-20 rugby union team which won the 2024 Six Nations Under 20s Championship. [11] [12]
Martin Osborne Johnson CBE is an English retired rugby union player who represented and captained England and Leicester in a career spanning 16 seasons. He captained England to victory in the 2003 Rugby World Cup, and is regarded as one of the greatest locks ever to have played, and one of England's greatest ever players.
Martin Edward Corry MBE is a retired English rugby union player who represented and captained England and Leicester Tigers in a career spanning 14 seasons. Corry played 64 times for England between 1997 and 2007, played 7 tests for the British & Irish Lions on tours in 2001 & 2005, and played 290 times for Leicester between 1997 and 2009. Earlier in his career he played top division rugby for Newcastle Gosforth and Bristol. A versatile player his principal positions were number eight and blindside flanker, he also played lock more as his career progressed.
