Finn Karlsen (born 1952 in Upernavik) is a Greenlandic politician. He represents the Atassut party.
His political career started in 1989, when he was elected to the municipal council of Narsaq Municipality. He took his seat in the Landstinget (Parliament) in 1995, and became Environment Minister in 2003, and Fishery and Food Minister in 2005.
In November 2007, he became Minister for Fisheries, Food, and Land Use.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAFF) was a United Kingdom government department created by the Board of Agriculture Act 1889 and at that time called the Board of Agriculture, and then from 1903 the Board of Agriculture and Fisheries, and from 1919 the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries. It attained its final name in 1955 with the addition of responsibilities for the British food industry to the existing responsibilities for agriculture and the fishing industry, a name that lasted until the Ministry was dissolved in 2002, at which point its responsibilities had been merged into the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra).
The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food was a United Kingdom cabinet position, responsible for the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. The post was originally named President of the Board of Agriculture and was created in 1889. In 1903, an Act was passed to transfer to the new styled Board of Agriculture and Fisheries certain powers and duties relating to the fishing industry, and the post was renamed President of the Board of Agriculture and Fisheries.

A member of the Conservative Party, he was the Member of Parliament (MP) for South Norfolk from 1974 to 2001. He served in the Cabinet as Chief Secretary to the Treasury (1985-87), Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (1987-89), Secretary of State for Education and Science (1989-90), Leader of the House of Commons and Lord President of the Council (1990-92), and Secretary of State for Transport (1992-94). He was made a life peer in 2001.

The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine is the senior minister at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine in the Government of Ireland. Historically, the agriculture portfolio has gone under a number of different names; the holder has often borne the title of simply Minister for Agriculture.
The Minister of Food Control (1916–1921) and the Minister of Food (1939–1958) were British government ministerial posts separated from that of the Minister of Agriculture. In the Great War the Ministry sponsored a network of canteens known as National Kitchens. In the Second World War a major task of the Ministry was to oversee rationing in the United Kingdom arising out of World War II. The Minister was assisted by a Parliamentary Secretary. The Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Food and Animal Welfare (2018–present) was appointed at the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs to ensure the continued supply of sufficient food during the Brexit process.

In 2017 the Ministry was reinstated. The Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality is the head of the Ministry and a member of the Cabinet of the Netherlands. The current Minister is Carola Schouten who also serves as Third Deputy Prime Minister.
