Finn Sullivan is an American basketball player who recently completed his college career for the Vermont Catamounts of the America East Conference. He previously played for the San Diego Toreros. Sullivan played for former NBA player John Olive at Torrey Pines High School in San Diego and committed to the University of San Diego as a part of new coach Sam Scholl's first recruiting class. [1] Sullivan played three seasons for the Toreros. He averaged 6 points in 74 games for the Toreros.
Sullivan then transferred to Vermont where he provided reliable outside shooting to the defense-oriented Catamounts. [2] In taking advantage of an extra year of eligibility offered by the NCAA to athletes playing during the COVID pandemic, Sullivan returned to Vermont for a fifth season. He averaged a career-best 11.7 points per game, displaying a strong overall floor game (4.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game) and leading the Catamounts to America East regular-season and tournament championships. [3] At the close of his final year of eligibility, Sullivan was named first-team All-America East Conference and the America East Player of the Year. [4] [5]
Torrey Pines High School is a high school in the North County area of San Diego, California. The school is named after the Torrey pine tree that grows in the area. Torrey Pines High School is a member of the San Dieguito Union High School District and serves the communities of Rancho Santa Fe, Del Mar, Fairbanks Ranch, Solana Beach, and Carmel Valley in San Diego County. Students from Encinitas may attend as well.

John Bradley Holland is a retired American professional basketball player. He played for four years at UCLA. He was a member of the 1980 Los Angeles Lakers championship team. He was the University of San Diego head basketball coach until March 2007. On April 25, 2007, he was named as one of three finalists to become the new head coach of UC Riverside's men's basketball program, but lost out to Jim Wooldridge. Holland served as an assistant coach at UC Santa Barbara during the 2008–2009 and 2009–2010 seasons.
Torrey Charles Mitchell is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre. He was selected in the fourth round, 126th overall, by the San Jose Sharks in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. Mitchell also previously played for the Minnesota Wild, Buffalo Sabres, Montreal Canadiens, Los Angeles Kings in the National Hockey League (NHL), as well as Lausanne HC of the National League (NL).
The Vermont Catamounts are the varsity intercollegiate athletic programs of the University of Vermont, based in Burlington, Vermont, United States. The school sponsors 18 athletic programs, most of which compete in the NCAA Division I America East Conference (AEC), of which the school has been a member since 1979. The men's and women's ice hockey programs compete in Hockey East. The men's and women's alpine and nordic skiing teams compete in the Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA). The Vermont Catamounts men's basketball team is the men's basketball team that represents the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont. The school's team currently competes in the America East Conference and plays its home games at Patrick Gym. The team has reached the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament ten times, in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2010, 2012, 2017, 2019, 2022, 2023, and 2024. UVM famously upset Syracuse University in the first round of the 2005 tournament. The Catamounts are coached by John Becker.
The Vermont Catamounts women's ice hockey program represents the University of Vermont. The Catamounts compete in Hockey East. Their first year of varsity women's hockey was in 1998–99. The Catamounts were in the ECAC at the Division III level of competition. In 2001–02, the Catamounts moved up to Division I. For the 2005–06 season, the Catamounts moved to Hockey East.

John Becker is an American college basketball coach, currently the head coach of the Vermont Catamounts of the America East Conference. He replaced Mike Lonergan, who left to become the coach at George Washington University.
Thomas John "T. J." Sorrentine an American former basketball player and current associate head coach of the Washington Wizards of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Sorrentine is widely known from his collegiate playing career at Vermont, hitting a three-pointer with 1:10 remaining to help the 13-seed Catamounts defeat fourth-seeded Syracuse 60–57 in overtime in the first round of the 2005 NCAA tournament for the school's first-ever tournament win.
Matthew Johnson is an American basketball coach and former player best known for his collegiate playing career at the University of Vermont from 1987 to 1991. His professional basketball career was a one-year stint in Ireland in 1994–95. He served as the head boys' basketball coach at Burlington High School in Burlington, Vermont from 2002–2016, winning four Vermont Division I boys' basketball championships, and an overall record of 265–61. He was named head boys' basketball coach at Jefferson County High School in Dandridge, Tennessee in 2017.
Stanley Washington is an American former professional basketball player for the Washington Bullets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the San Diego Toreros, and left as the school's career scoring leader with 1,472 points, a record that stood for 34 years until it was broken by Gyno Pomare in 2008. Washington's career total of 451 assists was also a Toreros record until 1996, when it was broken by David Fizdale.
