Combined, the voluntary national defense organizations represent over 80.000 people in Finland.
RESUL was founded in 12.12.1970. The founding organizations were Finnish NCO Association (later the Finnish Reservists' Association FRA), the Finnish Reserve Officers' Federation and all regional organizations thereof. In December 1998 RESUL became a member of National Defense Training Association (MPK), and re-joined the organization after it was re-organized in 01.01.2008. [9]

The White Guard or Civil Guard was a voluntary militia, part of the Finnish Whites movement, that emerged victorious over the socialist Red Guards in the Finnish Civil War of 1918. They were generally known as the "White Guard" in the West due to their opposition to the "communist" Red Guards. A reservist is a person who is a member of a military reserve force. They are otherwise civilians, and in peacetime have careers outside the military. Reservists usually go for training on an annual basis to refresh their skills. This person is usually a former active-duty member of the armed forces, and they remain a reservist either voluntarily, or by obligation. In some countries such as Israel, Norway, Finland, Singapore, and Switzerland, reservists are conscripted soldiers who are called up for training and service when necessary.
Seppo Evwaraye is a Finnish former offensive guard in American football and former general manager and interim head coach of Finnish team Wasa Royals of Maple league. Erkki Juhani Hartikainen was the chairman of Atheist Association of Finland. He qualified for a Master of Science in the University of Helsinki in 1967. His subjects were mathematics, theoretical philosophy and computer science. Hartikainen has been the chairman of Atheist Association of Finland since 1985. Hartikainen has served as the actuary since the late 1960s, for nearly 20 years as a teacher of mathematics and science in schools, and after that, since 1989, as teacher of information technology at a college in Vantaa. From 1994–1998, he worked as a statistician in Vantaa. Hartikainen retired in 2005.
National Defence Training Association of Finland is a voluntary organization providing safety and security training to all Finnish residents over the age of 15 and supplemental military training for all Finnish citizens over the age of 18.

Niilo Rudolf Tammisalo was an influential figure in Finnish sports in the first half of the 20th century. He was a versatile athlete who represented Finland as a player with the national teams in football, ice hockey, and bandy; he was also on Finnish Champion teams in each of the three sports with domestic clubs. When his career as a player came to a close in the early 1930s, he dedicated himself to coaching, refereeing, teaching, and administrating sports organizations.

Ymär Daher was a well respected Tatar cultural influencer, researcher, public servant, teacher and docent of turkology, doctor of philosophy and vice judge. He moved to Finland in early 1900s. As a researcher, Daher took part in many different altaistic and turkologic conferences around the world. His versatile language skills and cultural knowledge was used by for example the Finnish president Urho Kekkonen.
