First Baptist Church Woodstock is a Baptist megachurch in the northwestern Atlanta suburb of Woodstock, Georgia. It is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. The lead pastor is Jeremy Morton.
It was founded in 1837 as the Enon Church. [1]
In 1879, Enon Baptist Church moved to Downtown Woodstock. [2]
In 1884, the name was changed to Woodstock Baptist Church. [3]
In 1913, the sanctuary burned and replaced with the building that currently stands in Downtown Woodstock. [4]
In 1986, Johnny M. Hunt, former Southern Baptist Convention President, became senior pastor. [5] The attendance was 1,027 members.
In 1991, First Baptist Woodstock moved to a new 2,400 seat sanctuary on Neese Road.
In 2005, First Baptist Woodstock's new 7,000 seat Worship Center opened. [6]
In 2019, Pastor Hunt announced a transition where he would step down from his role at FBCW, and Jeremy Morton would assume the Senior Pastor position. Both Johnny Hunt and Jeremy Morton lead as co-pastors during the majority of 2019. The transition was completed in December 2019.

John Steven Gaines is an American Southern Baptist pastor who has served as the president of the Southern Baptist Convention. He resigned as senior pastor on September 22. 2024, to pursue an itinerant preaching ministry at Bellevue Baptist Church in Cordova, one of the largest congregations in the Southern Baptist Convention and has visited Israel 16 times. On Sunday, July 10, 2005, the Pastor Search Committee of Bellevue Baptist Church presented Dr. Steve Gaines to the church congregation. At the conclusion of the services the Bellevue family overwhelmingly voted to call Steve Gaines as the seventh Pastor of Bellevue Baptist Church. Gaines succeeds the longtime Bellevue pastor Adrian Rogers.

The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS) is a Baptist theological institute in Louisville, Kentucky. It is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. The seminary was founded in 1859 in Greenville, South Carolina, where it was at first housed on the campus of Furman University. The seminary has been an innovator in theological education, establishing one of the first Ph.D. programs in religion in the year 1892. After being closed during the Civil War, it moved in 1877 to a newly built campus in downtown Louisville and moved to its current location in 1926 in the Crescent Hill neighborhood. In 1953, Southern became one of the few seminaries to offer a full, accredited degree course in church music. For more than fifty years Southern has been one of the world's largest theological seminaries, with an FTE enrollment of over 3,300 students in 2015.

He previously served as the Senior Vice President of the Evangelism & Leadership division of the North American Mission Board—the church planting and domestic evangelism arm of the SBC—speaking nationally to church leaders and congregants about sharing the Christian Gospel.

First Baptist Church is a Baptist church in Charleston, South Carolina. It is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. The congregation was founded in 1682 under the leadership of William Screven. It is one of the oldest Baptist congregations in the American South. The church congregation was originally organized in Kittery, Maine under the guidance of the First Baptist Church of Boston. In 1696 twenty-six congregants followed Pastor Screven and moved to Charleston after being pressured by the New England Congregationalist authorities. The relocated congregation became the First Baptist Church of Charleston. Pastor Screven recommended that any future pastor be "orthodox in faith, and of blameless life, and does own the confession of faith put forth by our brethren in London in 1689" declaring the church to be firmly Calvinist. First Baptist Church is currently affiliated with the Southern Baptist denomination. The current Greek Revival sanctuary was designed by Robert Mills and built in 1820.
