Five Seven Music is the alternative/indie sub-label under The Eleven Seven Music Group.

Contents

Five Seven Music launched with Jet's Shaka Rock in 2009 [1] followed by She Wants Revenge's Valleyheart in 2011. [2] The label has rapidly grown since and has also released new albums from Dirty Heads, [3] Shiny Toy Guns, [4] Nico Vega and Midi Matilda, with more on the way and others to be announced.

We Are Pilots is the debut studio album by American electronic rock band Shiny Toy Guns. After previously being independently released throughout 2005, it was officially released on October 17, 2006, through Universal Motown in the United States and Mercury Records in the United Kingdom, with liner notes of the album referring to it as "version 3.0". Production, recording, and writing dates back as far as the early 2000s, with several songs being written during founding members Gregori Chad Petree and Jeremy Dawson's previous project, Dangerous Insects. Musically, We Are Pilots primarily uses influences of both rock music and electronic music, including elements of alternative rock, indie rock, pop, electropop, post-punk revival and disco, with the band receiving comparisons to The Killers and Franz Ferdinand.

In 2011, she released her solo single, "That You Like." On November 28, a preview video of a new single titled "Million Hands" was released on her official YouTube page. She was born in Long Beach, California and currently lives in Los Angeles.

The LA Weekly Detour Music Festival was a music festival that was held every October in Los Angeles, California. The entire block surrounding Los Angeles City Hall was closed, and three stages were erected for the festival, which lasted from noon to midnight on the day it was held. It was notable for attracting many big-name acts despite its status as a relatively young festival. The festival has been held every October since 2006. The website underwent a large change in July 2008 when the lineup for the third festival was announced. New for the 2008 festival was the BYOB Battle of the Bands competition, which features online voting to pick an unsigned artist to play at the festival in 2008. On August 18, 2009, LA Weekly announced via their website that the festival would not take place in 2009 since it has been put "on hiatus".

Versant was a Swedish and American band from Vänersborg, Sweden and Newbury Park, California that formed in the summer of 2008. Versant features vocalist Carah Faye Charnow, of the band Shiny Toy Guns, guitarist/keyboardist Daniel Johansson, drummer Richard Ankers, formerly of the band Melody Club, Johan Grettve, and bassist Nicholas Oja. Recently, Versant has announced their relocation from Sweden to California to work on an album.
