Fjord is an upcoming drama film written, co-produced, and directed by Cristian Mungiu. The film stars Sebastian Stan and Renate Reinsve as a Romanian-Norwegian couple who face scrutiny after moving to the wife's remote Norwegian hometown. [1]
The Gheorghiu family, with a Romanian father and a Norwegian mother, have moved to the mother's birthplace, a remote Norwegian village, and befriend the neighboring Halberg family. When the Gheorghius are suspected of disturbing behavior regarding their children, their lives are thrown into chaos as they become the center of scrutiny. [1] [2] [3]
Shooting began in March 2025 in Ålesund, Norway, with Marius Winje Brustad as production designer, Mircea Olteanu as editor, and Tudor Vladimir Pandoru as cinematographer. [4] Mungiu and Tudor Reu produced the film with Romanian production company Mobra Films, alongside production companies from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and France.
