It is located approximately 15 minutes by Stockholm commuter rail from central Stockholm, or 20–30 minutes by car. Flemingsberg has 12,000 inhabitants, around 12,300 people work there, and there are about 13,000 students studying at Södertörn University.
There is a railway station (Flemingsberg, formerly Stockholm Syd Flemingsberg), a major hospital, a university college and there are also colourful high-rise residential buildings from the 1970s.
Flemingsberg has also evolved as a law enforcement center for the southern part of metropolitan Stockholm, with police station, court house, prosecutor's office and a jail, all in buildings built in the 1990s onwards.

History
Flemingsberg gets its name from the Flemingsberg manor. The village where the manor house was built in the 17th century was originally called Andersta but the name was changed when it came into the ownership of Henrik Fleming. The current manor house was built in 1790.
The current buildings in Flemingsberg (also called "Flempan" for short) were built during the Million Programme and for a long time there was trouble renting out all the apartments and the area become known as a very bad suburb.[citation needed] The two halves were renamed Visättra and Grantorp as the name Flemingsberg gave bad associations. Today the name Flemingsberg is again used for the area and the railway station.
The former Huddinge University Hospital is now a part of Karolinska University Hospital at Huddinge in Flemingsberg and is associated with the medical university of Karolinska Institute (Karolinska institutet).
Flemingsberg is the name of a railway station on the Stockholm commuter rail line between Södertälje and Märsta, via central Stockholm. Trains usually departs within 15 minute intervals both ways. Tvärbanan is a light-rail line in Stockholm, Sweden. Its name translates literally to The transverse line, as it operates crosswise to the otherwise radial metro and commuter rail lines of Stockholm. It links together several transit lines through its connections with the southern, western and northern subway branches of the Stockholm Metro (Tunnelbana) as well as three branches of the Stockholm commuter rail (Pendeltåg). The possibility to travel between southern, western and northern greater Stockholm without having to enter the city centre significantly reduces the number of transit passengers, also reducing the number of trains having to pass through the Old Town bottleneck during peak hours. Near Liljeholmen the track is shared with freight traffic for a short section, this being the only place in Sweden where freight traffic and trams share the same track.
Tullinge is a suburb of Greater Stockholm, Sweden. It is located in the eastern part of Botkyrka Municipality, on the border to the Flemingsberg part of Huddinge Municipality. It had approximately 20,000 inhabitants in 2011.
Stockholm commuter rail is the commuter rail system in Stockholm County, Sweden. The system is an important part of the public transport in Stockholm, and is controlled by Storstockholms Lokaltrafik. The tracks are state-owned and administered by the Swedish Transport Administration, while the operation of the Stockholm commuter rail services itself has been contracted to SJ AB since March 2024.

The Stockholm City Line is a commuter railway tunnel beneath central Stockholm in Sweden which is used by the Stockholm Commuter Rail. The line is 7.4 kilometres (4.6 mi) long, double track and electrified. It has two stations: Stockholm City Station is located directly below T-Centralen, the central station of the Stockholm Metro. The Odenplan station is the other station, and is also served by the Green Line of the Metro. The line opened on 10 July 2017.

When he decided to move to Houston, Texas, USA, in 2008, the State of Texas decided to give a major US $5.5 million research grant to the University of Houston, enabling the establishment of the Center of Nuclear Receptors and Cell Signaling under the leadership of Jan-Åke Gustafsson.
