Flemish Sportsjewel

The Flemish Sportsjewel is an annual award given to a Flemish sportsperson or -team, either following a remarkable achievement or at the end of an exceptional career in sports. [1]

Contents

Each individual can only win the award once during his or her career, making this trophy one of the most prestigious in Flemish sports. The trophy is awarded by the Flemish Administration represented by the Flemish Minister for Sport, and was first handed out in 1982. [1]

Songs of Innocence is the debut English-language solo album by the Belgian Flemish singer Jasper Steverlinck, frontman of Arid. It was released in 2004 by PIAS Recordings, and it topped for five weeks the Belgian Album Chart, and reached No. 48 in the Wallonia Region. The album include the previous year's single "Life On Mars?", an acoustic cover of the Davie Bowie song with the Kolacny brothers pianists, which had spent seven weeks at No.1 in Belgium in 2003.

Lotte Kopecky is a Belgian road and track racing cyclist, who rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam Team SD Worx–Protime, and the 2023 UCI Elite Women's World Road Race Champion. Nina Derwael is a Belgian artistic gymnast. She is the 2020 Olympic champion, a two-time World champion, and a two-time European champion on the uneven bars. She is the 2019 European Games champion on the balance beam, as well as a two-time Belgian national all-around champion.

In the run up to the 2024 Belgian federal election, various organisations carry out opinion polling to gauge voting intention in Belgium. The date range for these polls are from the 2019 Belgian federal election, held on 25 May, to the present day. The results of nationwide polls are usually numerically split into the three Belgian regions: Flanders, Brussels and Wallonia. Federal seat projections for the Chamber of Representatives are presented together under these regional polls. The federal election will be part of a group of elections which also include the regional elections and the European elections. Some polls might be undefined voting intentions without differentiating between the elections.

The Toneelschrijfprijs is an annual literary award awarded to the playwrights of a Dutch-language play that debuted in the preceding season. The award ceremony is held in either Flanders or the Netherlands. The winner of the prize receives 10,000. The prize was first awarded in 1988 as the Nederlands-Vlaamse Toneelschrijfprijs.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Boekenleeuw</span> Belgian literary award

The Boekenleeuw is a Flemish literary award for the best book in children's literature by a Flemish author. The award is given by Boek.be and the winner receives 2,500.

The Vlaamse Reus is an award given to a Flemish person active in sports, showing a great personality. The award's name is a wordplay on the Flemish Giant rabbit. Until 2023 the award went to the best Flemish sportsperson. The award is given every year, with the Flemish sports journalists eligible to vote for the winner.
