Floor Thirteen was a Canadian alternative rock band from Winnipeg, Manitoba The band combined 1960s and 1970s influenced rock and roll with 1990s rock sounds. [1]
Floor Thirteen formed in 1998 when drummer Billy Kiely and Marc 'Jaws' Jaworski, who had been jamming together, came together with singer/bassist Aaron Vandall. [2]
Jeremy Koz later joined the group, [3] and Floor Thirteen performed as part of the Powerball concert in Winnipeg in 2005 along with Our Lady Peace and Danko Jones. [4] The band performed at the NXNE festival in 2007. [5]
They entered 441 Studios in Winnipeg with Juno Award-winning producer Brandon Friesen. The resulting album, Mmmm!, was released in 2008, and debuted at number one in Winnipeg record sales for the week of August 10, 2008. [6]
Floor Thirteen's song, "Blame It On Me," was licensed to the video game company EA Games in August, and EA Games placed the song in the games Need For Speed: Undercover and The Sims 3 .
In September 2008, the song "Blame It On Me" was played on George Stroumboulopoulos' The Strombo Show. The next month, the band headed to the UK to showcase major industry executives in London's MUSEXPO Europe. Floor Thirteen was also the featured artist on internationally syndicated import radio show, Passport Approved, which has a presence in Germany and the U.K.
In 2012 Floor Thirteen took part in Canada Music Week in Toronto. [7]

Pete Lesperance is a Canadian guitarist, singer, songwriter, and producer best known as the lead guitarist for the Canadian hard rock band Harem Scarem. Lesperance was born October 13, 1968, in Scarborough, Ontario. Lesperance was a guitarist in the Oshawa metal band Minotaur before forming Harem Scarem with Blind Vengeance vocalist Harry Hess in 1987.

North by Northeast is an annual music and arts festival held each June in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The festival's main focus is live music, particularly emerging talent. Acts that have had break out appearances at NXNE at small venues early in their careers include: Lizzo, Daniel Caesar (2016), Run the Jewels (2014), Lumineers (2012), Grimes (2011), Gary Clark Jr. (2007), The Arkells (2007), Feist (2004), Billy Talent (1999) and thousands more. In its return post-COVID, the festival embraced its roots as a discovery event, programming exclusively in Toronto's live music venues, presenting over 200 of the world's best emerging acts bands in 20 venues over five nights from June 14–18, 2022. Festival passes were low priced and bands were not charged a fee to apply. The 2023 Festival takes place June 13–17. Complete festival passes cost $25, all shows are $15 at the door without a pass.
