Florenc Central Bus Station [1] (also known as Prague main bus terminal (Florenc) [2] or Main bus station (Florenc) [3] ) is the largest and most well-known bus terminal both in Prague and the Czech Republic. It is located eastward of the part of the city with the same name, Florenc, the top part of the terminal belongs to city quarter New Town, whereas the bottom part and the building with the old hall belongs to the cadastral area Karlín in Prague 8. The old hall with the former main entrance is located in the Křížikova street next to the Musical Theatre Karlín, the entrance for the buses is from the crossroads of streets Prvního pluku and Malého.

Between the years 1992 and 2004, the name of the bus terminal was also in the name of the joint-stock company that owned the bus terminal.

The terminal sees 10 000 000 travellers yearly. [4] It is located above the Prague metro station of the same name.

Anděl (Prague Metro) Prague metro station

Anděl is a Prague Metro station on Line B. The station was built between 1977 and 1985, designed in the Soviet style, by Soviet architects and dedicated to the Czechoslovak–Soviet friendship. It was opened on 2 November 1985, as part of the inaugural section of Line B between Sokolovská and Smíchovské nádraží. The station was renamed in 1990 to Anděl, after the nearby Anděl neighborhood. At present it is one of the busiest stations on line B.

Nové spojení

The Nové spojení is a series of tunnels and bridges forming an important part of the railway network in Prague, Czech Republic. The network was constructed between 2004 and 2008 and opened in 2010. It links the two central stations, Praha hlavní and Praha Masarykovo, to Libeň, Vysočany and Holešovice stations and the start of their respective mainline corridors towards Česká Třebová, Hradec Králové and Ústí nad Labem. The construction has increased the capacity of the trunk lines serving Praha hlavní nádraží, allowing more trains to terminate there. Prior to its completion, many international trains terminated at Holešovice station, due to lack of access to the centre from the northern and eastern routes. Trains are now also able to travel at speeds of up to 100 kilometres per hour (62 mph) on the tunnel sections. The construction is also part of a larger plan to improve the sections of pan-European corridors on Czech territory.
