The 1988 AFC Asian Cup was the 9th edition of the men's AFC Asian Cup, a quadrennial international football tournament organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Football at the 2009 Asian Youth Games

Football at the 2009 Asian Youth Games was held from 20 June to 6 July 2009 at the Jalan Besar Stadium. The organizers also used few other college stadiums for the preliminary rounds, Temasek Polytechnic, Meridian Junior College, Victoria Junior College and Jurong Junior College. Age limit for the teams was under-14. South Korea won the gold medal after beating North Korea 2–0 in the final.

The third edition of the EAFF Women's Football Championship was held in 2010, with a preliminary qualification tournament held in 2009.

The 2011-12 Qatari League, also known as Qatari Stars League was the 39th edition of top-level football championship in Qatar. The season started on 1 September 2011 and finished on 13 April 2012. Lekhwiya won the league title.

The men's association football tournament at the 2011 Pan Arab Games was held in Doha, Qatar from 10 to 23 December. The tournament was played at three venues in two host cities. Egypt were the defending champions from the 2007 Pan Arab Games in Cairo. Bahrain clinched the Gold Medal after beating Jordan 1–0.

Football at the 2013 Asian Youth Games was held from 13 August 2013 to 23 August 2013. Age limit for the teams was under-14. South Korea beat Iran 1–0 by a second half penalty to defend the 2009 gold medal, North Korea beat Iraq on penalties to win the bronze medal.
