For The Imperium is an experimental metal band from Helsinki, Finland. Their music is a mixture of modern metal, pop, classic rock and electro. For The Imperium has released two full-length albums and has supported Devin Townsend Project on their 2013 UK-tour. [1]
For The Imperium was formed in Helsinki, 2008. The band released two self-financed EPs and played in various venues around Finland, Latvia and Sweden, eventually catching the attention of Warner Music Finland. [2]
For The Imperium's first full-length album was released in 2011 via Warner Music Finland. The record was mixed and produced by Kari Huikuri in Scandal Studios, Helsinki.
The album received positive reviews and the band played plenty of gigs, including Tuska Open Air Metal Festival 2012, Finland's most important metal festival. [3]
In 2012, Lifeforce Records released the album in Europe, including a bonus track "He's a Whore", originally made by Cheap Trick. [4]
Their second album, Hail The Monsters, was produced and engineered by Kari Huikuri, mixed by Miitri Aaltonen and mastered by Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios. The album was released in Finland on Warner Music Finland and in the UK on Graphite Records. [5]
The band was featured in Metal Hammer magazine as a "Hot New Band" in their April 2013 issue. The music video for the single Sudden Death was censored in the UK. [6]
The band signed a booking deal with Continental Concerts in February 2013. [7]
The band played a handful of shows in Finland and toured in the UK twice, supporting Breed77 and Devin Townsend Project. In the fall 2013, the band supported Children Of Bodom on their Finnish tour dates. [8]
Devin Garrett Townsend is a Canadian singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer. He founded extreme metal band Strapping Young Lad and was its primary songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist from 1994 to 2007. He has also had an extensive solo career and has released a total of 25 albums across all of his projects as of 2020.
Strapping Young Lad was a Canadian extreme metal band formed by Devin Townsend in Vancouver in 1994. The band started as a one-man studio project; Townsend played most of the instruments on the 1995 debut album, Heavy as a Really Heavy Thing. By 1997, he had recruited permanent members; this line-up, which consisted of Townsend on vocals and guitar, Jed Simon on guitar, Byron Stroud on bass, and Gene Hoglan on drums, lasted until the band's dissolution.
Anna Maria van Giersbergen, known artistically as Anneke van Giersbergen, is a Dutch singer, songwriter, guitarist and pianist who became known worldwide as the lead singer and songwriter for the Dutch band The Gathering, between 1994 and 2007. Accelerated Evolution is the sixth studio album by Canadian musician Devin Townsend, released in 2003. The album, written and produced by Townsend, was a mix of musical styles from alternative rock to hard rock to progressive metal. Townsend, the lead vocalist and guitarist, assembled a group of Vancouver musicians to perform with him on the album: guitarist Brian Waddell, drummer Ryan Van Poederooyen, bassist Mike Young, and keyboardist Dave Young. This lineup, the Devin Townsend Band, was Townsend's first dedicated lineup for his solo material, and was created as a counterpart to Townsend's extreme metal project Strapping Young Lad.
Tuska Open Air Metal Festival, commonly shortened to Tuska, is a Finnish heavy metal festival taking place annually in Helsinki. The first Tuska took place in 1998 and the festival has since grown larger every year. The location of the festival has been in Kaisaniemi park in the middle of the city from 2001. However, since 2011, Tuska has taken place at the Suvilahti event field in the Kalasatama neighbourhood of the Sörnäinen district. The festival dates have always been in either June or July.
Amoral was a Finnish heavy metal band from Helsinki, formed in 1997. They played technical, progressive, melodic, hard rock-oriented metal. The band's fourth album was an about-turn, replacing the dominance of quirky death metal with an exemplary display of riff-driven, heavy, yet melodic power groove and the occasional sing-along chorus. Amoral performed extensively in bars, clubs, festivals and other venues in Finland, Europe, Japan, China, Philippines and the US. The band split up in 2017 after 20 years together.

He has worked with artists such as Architects, Sleeping With Sirens, The Amity Affliction, Periphery, Trace Cyrus, David Archuleta, TesseracT, Devin Townsend, and Four Year Strong, and is a member of Kscope's cross-continental music group White Moth Black Butterfly.
