Forvika or Forvik is the administrative centre of the municipality of Vevelstad in Nordland county, Norway. Forsvika sits on the coastline along the Vevelstadsundet strait, just north of the village of Vevelstad where Vevelstad Church is located. Forvika is the southern terminus of the Tjøtta-Forvika ferry line. [2]

Velfjorden is a fjord in Nordland county, Norway. The fjord is located mostly in Brønnøy Municipality, but part of the northern portion of the fjord lies in Vevelstad Municipality. The 31-kilometre (19 mi) fjord stretches from northwest to southeast with many side-arms branching off the main fjord. Two of the main side branches are the Sørfjorden and Langfjorden. Most of the settlements are on the southwestern shore of the fjord and the Lomsdal-Visten National Park lies on the northeastern shore of the fjord.
Vevelstad Church is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Vevelstad Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Forvika. It is the main church for the Vevelstad parish which is part of the Sør-Helgeland prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Sør-Hålogaland. The white, wooden church was built in a long church style in 1796 by an unknown architect. The church seats about 250 people.
Brønnøy District Court is a district court located in the town of Brønnøysund in Nordland county, Norway. The court serves the central part of the county which includes the municipalities of Bindal, Brønnøy, Sømna, Vega, and Vevelstad. The court is subordinate to the Hålogaland Court of Appeal. The court is led by the chief judge Rolf Selfors, who also leads the neighboring Alstahaug District Court and Rana District Court. The municipality was centered around the island of Tjøtta plus the mainland to the east and south as well as over 3000 islands, islets, and skerries to the west. The administrative centre of Tjøtta was the village of Tjøtta, located on the island of Tjøtta, where the Tjøtta Church is located.

Rødøya or Røøya is an island in Alstahaug Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The 7.3-square-kilometre (2.8 sq mi) island lies at the mouth of the Vefsnfjorden and the Halsfjorden. The island is home to 23 people, living mostly on the southern part of the island.
