Four Sigmatic is a Finnish-American [1] functional foods company. [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] The company is headquartered in Los Angeles, California. [7] [8] Four Sigmatic sells various coffee products, plant-based proteins, wellness supplements, beauty products, and other so-called superfood products. [9]

History

The company's predecessor LUONTOlife was founded in 2011 by Finnish entrepreneurs Tero Isokauppila, Mikko Revonniemi and Mika Rantanen. [10] [11] [12] [13] LUONTOlife was based in Hong Kong, and sold blenders, mushroom elixirs, herbal extracts, and raw honey under the Four Sigma Foods brand name. In 2014, Isokauppila founded a new US based company Funguys, Inc. [14] [15] [16] [17]

In 2015, alongside original LUONTOlife employees Mikael Makinen and Markus Karjalainen, the company launched in the U.S. [18] [19] In the same year, the company launched its flagship Mushroom Coffee [20] product and moved its headquarters to Santa Monica, CA. In 2016, the company rebranded as Four Sigmatic.

In 2018 the company received a round of private funding from investors.

As of 2021, the company's products are available in 65 countries. [21]

Isokauppila was chosen twice as one of the world's Top 50 Food Activists by the Academy of Culinary Nutrition. [22]

ConsumerLab.com, LLC. is a privately held American company registered in White Plains, NY. It is a publisher of test results on health, wellness, and nutrition products. Consumer Labs is not a laboratory, but contracts studies to outside testing laboratories. It purchases dietary supplement products and other consumer goods directly from public storefronts and online retailers, contracts for testing by private laboratories, and publishes reports based on the results. It primarily derives revenue from the sale of subscriptions to its online publications, which are paywalled. Other sources of revenue include a proprietary certification program, licensing fees, contents re-publication license fees, and advertising.

Chobani is an American food company specializing in strained yogurt. The company was founded in 2005 by Hamdi Ulukaya, a Turkish businessman.
