Francisco Javier "Fran" Alonso Lopez (born 13 June 1976) is a Spanish football manager who most recently managed the Houston Dash of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL).

Career

In 2018, Alonso was appointed manager of English side Lewes. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] In 2020, he was appointed manager of Scottish woman's side Celtic. [8] [9] [10] [11] [12] [13]

On 22 December 2023, Alonso was appointed manager for National Women's Soccer League side Houston Dash. [14] Alonso went on a leave of absence for unspecified reasons on 22 June 2024, and on 1 October 2024 the Dash parted ways with him. [15]

The 2023–24 Scottish Women's Premier League was the 23rd season of the SWPL, the highest division of women's football in Scotland since 2002. Sponsored by ScottishPower, the league was split into two divisions – SWPL 1 with 12 clubs and SWPL 2 with eight clubs. It was the second season of operation under the auspices of the Scottish Professional Football League.
