Frank Smith was a member of the Florida House of Representatives in the sessions of 1869 and 1870 and also served as Clerk of the Court for Brevard County. He operated a store and post office at Fort Pierce which,at the time,was the only settlement for 37 miles north of Jupiter. [3]
Smith was the first settler of Micco,Florida in 1877. His residence near the old Indian River Inlet supports the belief that the area of the original Indian River Colony,Susannah,near Fort Pierce,was Brevard's early county seat. [4]

The Pritchard House is a historic house in Titusville,Florida,United States. It is located at 424 South Washington Avenue. On January 12,1990,it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The house is owned by the Brevard County Board of County Commissioners and operated by the North Brevard Heritage Foundation.
North Hutchinson Island is a coastal barrier island in Indian River and St. Lucie counties on the east coast of Florida in the United States. It is part of IRSC Public Media,a division of Indian River State College,alongside two other stations:WQCS 88.9 FM in Fort Pierce and WQJS 88.5 FM in Clewiston.
Holy Apostles Episcopal Church,is an historic Carpenter Gothic church building now located at 505 Grant Avenue in Satellite Beach,Florida in the United States. It was built in 1902 some 100 kilometers to the south in Fort Pierce to serve St. Andrew's Episcopal Church,which it did until March 25,1959,when St. Andrew's moved into a much larger structure and gave its old building,less its organ and stained glass windows,to the old Episcopal Diocese of South Florida to be used as a mission church. The diocese gave it to Holy Apostles,which had been formed in 1957 and had been holding services in a synagogue,and it was barged up the Indian River on July 14,1959 to Satellite Beach,where it became the first church building in that two-year-old city just south of Patrick Space Force Base.
Debbie Mayfield is an American politician serving as a Republican member of the Florida Senate who has represented the 17th district,which includes Indian River and southern Brevard Counties,since 2016. She previously served four terms in the Florida House of Representatives,representing parts of the Treasure Coast from 2008 to 2016. She was the Senate majority leader from 2020 to 2022.

James H. Pruitt served as the one-term mayor of Eau Gallie,Florida from 1956 to 1957. He was also a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 1959 to 1967,during which time he served alongside Jim Dressler.
Tom Goodson is a Republican politician and a former member of the Florida House of Representatives.
William F. Russell was an American politician. He was a settler in Florida,soldier,and member of the Florida House of Representatives,serving as Speaker of the House in 1854. Russell was born in North Carolina. He became a major,and was put in charge of the Indian River Settlement in St. Lucia County,which broke up following an attack by Seminole Indians in July 1849. Russell was shot in the arm during the attack. Russell's brother-in-law John Barker was killed. The rest of his family escaped to New Smyrna.
