Buskerud is a county and a current electoral district in Norway, bordering Akershus, Oslo, Innlandet, Vestland, Telemark and Vestfold. The region extends from the Oslofjord and Drammensfjorden in the southeast to Hardangervidda mountain range in the northwest. The county administration was in modern times located in Drammen. Buskerud was merged with Akershus and Østfold into the newly created Viken County on 1 January 2020. On the 23 February 2022 Viken County Council voted in a 49 against 38 decision to submit an application to the Norwegian government for a county demerger. Due to this, Buskerud was re-established in 2024.

Ringerike Grand Prix is a road bicycle race held annually near Hønefoss, in the region of Ringerike, Norway. The race was created in 1975 as the Fossen Grand Prix, and was ranked 2.2 on the UCI Europe Tour between 2005 and 2010. In 2011 it turned into a one-day race while Tour of Norway, held in the whole eastern Norway, replaced it on the calendar. In 2013 the race came back on the UCI Europe Tour as a race ranked 1.2.

Terje Larsen, known as "The Wanderer", was a Norwegian convicted serial burglar. Convicted of 664 burglaries, but suspected of carrying out several thousand, he has been described as a legend in Norwegian criminal history. Since the beginning of the 1980s, Larsen wandered throughout the country, burgling hundreds of cabins and lodges, often spending several nights in the process, all the while avoiding law enforcement. He was named one of Norway's most notorious criminals.

Team Waoo was a Danish UCI Continental team founded in 2012, and disbanded in 2019. In July 2016 Bjarne Riis and former Saxo Bank CEO Lars Seier announced that they had taken the team over and renamed it Team Virtu Pro-Veloconcept, with the intention of it functioning as the development team for a planned UCI WorldTeam. On 11 September 2017 the team changed its name into Team Virtu Cycling, after a new owner, Jan Bech Andersen, had bought one third of the shares. In July 2018, the name changed again to Team Waoo.
