Franziska Huhn (born 1977 in Berlin, Germany) is a German harpist. Currently, she lives in the United States.
Franziska Huhn was born in Berlin, Germany in 1977. [1] She began with harp playing at the age of nine. When she was 14, she won the German prize Jugend musiziert . [2] On a fellowship, she studied at Boston University with Lucile Lawrence and graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree. She continued her studies with Ann Hobson Pilot at the New England Conservatory and earned a master's degree in harp performance. In 2005, she was awarded the Artist's Diploma as the first ever harpist by the conservatory. [1] [3] [4] [5]
Franziska Huhn has participated in many orchestras and festivals including Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, the Pacific Music Festival in Japan and the Tanglewood Music Center in Lenox, Massachusetts. A Fromm Player since 2003, she returned to Tanglewood to perform contemporary music. [6] Huhn is also active in and around the Boston area performing as a substitute harpist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and playing regularly with chamber music ensembles such as the Walden Chamber Players, [1] [7] the Callithumpian Consort, [8] and Sound Icon. [9] Her reputation for contemporary music is such that composers such as Lior Navok have composed pieces for her to perform. [10]
She has given numerous solo recitals throughout the United States as well as in Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Turkey, [2] Georgia, Russia, Syria, Pakistan and Germany. [1] [5] [11] She was featured in a recital on WGBH in "Live from Studio 1." [12] In 2007, her album Harp Solo was released. [13]
Since 2003, Huhn has been the Assistant Director of the Harp Seminar at Boston University Tanglewood Institute. [14] In 2012, she joined the faculty of the summer camp Connecticut Valley Harp Intensive. [15] Huhn serves as harp faculty at the New England Conservatory, [3] directs the Harp Department at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, Massachusetts, [1] [4] [5] and recently joined the faculty at Boston University College of Fine Arts. Lior Navok is an Israeli classical composer, conductor and pianist. He was born in Tel Aviv. His music has been performed internationally by orchestras and ensembles including the Oper Frankfurt, Nuernberg Opera, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Boston Modern Orchestra Project, and the Tanglewood Festival Orchestra. Amongst the awards he has received are those from the Israel Cultural Excellence Foundation and the Massachusetts Cultural Council. He has also received awards from the Fromm Music Foundation, Lili Boulanger Memorial Fund Award, and Israel Prime Minister Award. In 2004, he was one of seven composers awarded commissions for new musical works by the Serge Koussevitzky Foundation in the Library of Congress and the Koussevitzky Music Foundation.
Lucile Lawrence was a leader among American harpists. At the end of her life, she was actively teaching as a faculty member of Boston University and the Manhattan School of Music as well as teaching privately.

The Missouri Chamber Music Festival and Adult Chamber Music Intensive (ACMI) was founded in 2010. For many years Allen was also Associate Dean of the Herb Alpert School of Music at California Institute of the Arts.

Marianne Gedigian is an American flutist and teacher. She holds a Butler Professorship as Professor of Flute at the University of Texas at Austin Butler School of Music. She has formerly held positions as acting principal flute of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony, and as principal flute of the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra. Gedigian has worked with composer John Williams and can be heard on the film scores for Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan. Her teachers include Clement Barone, Doriot Anthony Dwyer, and Leone Buyse. She has performed solo recitals on four continents in the US, Australia, Japan and England. Gedigian is a Haynes flute artist.
Jana Boušková is a Czech harpist and pedagogue. She has been the principal harpist of the Czech Philharmonic since 2005. Boušková is also a professor at the Royal College of Music in London since 2019, the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague since 2007, and she was the harp teacher at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels from 2005 to 2020.
