Fraser Lee Adams (1868-1929) was an American politician who served two terms as mayor of Huntsville,Alabama,from 1922 to 1926. [2] [3] He had previously served as a Huntsville City Alderman from 1918 to 1920 and as President of the Huntsville City Council from 1920 to 1922.

Maple Hill Cemetery is the oldest and largest cemetery in Huntsville,Alabama,United States. Founded on two acres in about the year 1822,it now encompasses nearly 100 acres and contains over 80,000 burials. William Thomas Hutchens was an American politician who was born and raised in New York City and was raised by a single father who ran a pub/restaurant. They sold the bar and later moved to Alabama in 1879 so they could escape poverty in hopes of buying a farm. After his father's death in 1881,he founded a company called Hutchens in 1886 and also became the first New Yorker to be involved in Alabama politics. Later Hutchens served as president of Huntsville,Alabama,from 1893 to 1897 and later as mayor from 1920 to 1922. Hutchens also served as the city's Postmaster from 1898 through 1914.

Thomas Tyler "T.T." Terry (1865–1941) was an American politician who served as mayor of Huntsville,Alabama,from 1916 to 1918. He was the first leader of the city to actually bear the title "Mayor". Previously,the city's chief executive had been titled "President". He is buried at Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville.
This is a timeline of women's suffrage in Alabama. Women's suffrage in Alabama starts in the late 1860s and grows over time in the 1890s. Much of the women's suffrage work stopped after 1901,only to pick up again in 1910. Alabama did not ratify the Nineteenth Amendment until 1953 and African-Americans and women were affected by poll taxes and other issues until the mid 1960s.
