Fred L. Dailey (born 1946) is a former director of the Ohio Department of Agriculture, and was the Republican nominee for U.S. Congress in Ohio's 18th congressional district. He lost the November 2008 general election by a 40.21%-59.79% margin to Democratic incumbent Zack Space.

Fred Dailey was appointed director of the Ohio Department of Agriculture by Governor George Voinovich in 1991, [1] and served in this position for 16 years, making him the longest serving Agriculture Director in Ohio history. [2] [3]

From 1975 to 1981, Dailey served as director of the Indiana Division of Agriculture, and from 1982 to 1991 he served as executive vice president of the Ohio Beef Council and executive secretary of the Ohio Cattlemen's Association. [3] Dailey is a former president of the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture. [3] In 2003 Dailey was appointed chairman of the Federal Agricultural Mortgage Corporation. [2]

Dailey earned his B.A. degree in political science and history from Anderson University, and earned his master's degree in public administration from Ball State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. [4]

Fred Dailey served with the 101st Airborne Division in the Vietnam War. Dailey is also a former rodeo cowboy and a mountaineer. [5]

Political Views

Dailey describes himself as "Pro-Family, Pro-Life, Pro-Second Amendment, Pro-Worker, Pro-Business, Pro-Family Farmer, Pro-Defense and Pro-America." [6] He is opposed to the estate tax and supports making the Bush tax cuts permanent. [7]

Joseph Ronald Micheli, known as Ron Micheli, is a former director of the Wyoming Department of Agriculture who also served from 1977-1992 in the Wyoming House of Representatives. He ran a strong third-place finish as a candidate for the Republican gubernatorial nomination in 2010. His primary opponents were former U.S. Attorney Matt Mead, who won the nomination and later the general election, state auditor Rita Meyer, who placed second, and Speaker of the Wyoming House Colin M. Simpson of Cody, who finished in fourth place.

The 2012 United States House of Representatives elections in Washington were held on Tuesday, 6 November 2012, to elect the ten U.S. Representatives from the state, one from each of the state's ten congressional districts, a gain of one seat following the 2010 United States Census. The elections coincided with the elections of other federal and state offices, including a quadrennial presidential election, and a U.S. Senate election. The state certified the returns on 6 December 2012. Primary elections were held on 7 August 2012.

2018 Georgia state elections

A general election was held in the U.S. state of Georgia on November 6, 2018. All of Georgia's executive officers were up for election as well as all of Georgia's fourteen seats in the United States House of Representatives. Neither U.S. Senate seat was up for election in 2018. The Republican Party won every statewide office albeit by much more narrow margins than in elections before.
