Fred Mundy (born 5 January 1941) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Geelong and Richmond in the Victorian Football League (VFL). [1]

Mundy, who played as a ruck-rover and in defence, came to Geelong from Orbost in 1959 and made four league appearances that year. [2] [3] At the beginning of the 1960 season, Mundy was cleared to Richmond. [4] Mundy debuted for Richmond in round four, the first of four successive games that he would play, before he received a two-week suspension, for striking Footscray's Trevor Elliott. [3] [5] He played only two more games that season. [3]

In 1961, Mundy had to return home to manage the family farm in Orbost, as his father had been severely injured in an accident. [6]

Thomas Stanley Raymond Hafey was an Australian rules footballer who played for the Richmond Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He then became one of the VFL's longest-serving and most successful coaches, guiding Richmond to four VFL premierships before also having stints at Collingwood, Geelong and finally Sydney.
Hafey was an inaugural inductee into the Australian Football Hall of Fame in 1996, named coach of Richmond's team of the century in 1998, and given the AFL Coaches Association "Coaching Legend Award" in 2011. He was renowned for his fitness and toughness even in his elderly years when he would still run rings around his juniors. He would do over 700 push ups and crunches a day every day since he started playing AFL.

Damien Hardwick Australian rules footballer, born 1972

Damien Patrick Hardwick is an Australian rules football coach and former player. He has been the senior coach of the Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL) since 2010. His playing career as a defender comprised 153 games for Essendon (1994–2001) and 54 games for Port Adelaide (2002–2004). He won premierships with each club, in 2000 and 2004 respectively. He later coached Richmond to the 2017, 2019 and 2020 premierships and is the longest tenured coach in Richmond club history.

The 2016 Australian Football League season was the 120th season of the elite Australian rules football competition and the 27th under the name 'Australian Football League', having switched from 'Victorian Football League' after 1989. There were 18 teams competing in the league, the same as the previous four seasons. The first game was played on Thursday, 24 March, and the 2016 AFL Grand Final was played on Saturday, 1 October with the Western Bulldogs defeating Sydney by 22 points to win its second premiership and first in 62 years, breaking the then-longest active drought in VFL/AFL history.
