Free Range is the stage name of American indie folk musician Sofia Jensen. Jensen is originally from Scandinavia, but grew up in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago. [1] [2] Under the Free Range moniker, Jensen has released one full-length album. On December 7, 2022, Jensen announced plans to release their first album, titled Practice. [3] The album was released on February 17, 2023. [3] Jensen began writing for the album when they were fifteen years old alongside their live drummer Jack Henry. [1] The album received the attention of numerous publications, such as Pitchfork, [4] Chicago Reader, [5] New Noise Magazine, [6] and Paste. [7]
