The Freeport Container Port (FCP) is a major container port in Grand Bahama, The Bahamas, located just west of Freeport. FCP is owned and operated by Hutchison Port Holdings, and opened on July 16, 1997. [1] [2] Since then, Freeport Container Port has become a major transshipment hub in the Western Hemisphere, earning the nickname "Transshipment Hub of The Americas." [3] [4] Freeport Container Port can handle bulk, container, general cargo, passenger, tanker, gas, roro, and reefer cargo, and its UN/LOCODE is BSFPO. [5]
Freeport Container Port covers a 72-hectare (180-acre) area with docks stretching 1,037 metres (3,402 ft) and a draught of about 16.1 metres (52 ft 10 in). FCP can handle ships up to 16,100 TEUs, and is equipped with three berths averaging 15 metres (49 ft) in depth. Furthermore, FCP handles approximately 1.1 million TEUs annually, and includes 755 reefer plugs. The port's machinery includes six mobile cranes, four floating cranes, and lifts capable of handling weights between 50 and 100 tons. [6]
In January 2023, Prime Minister Philip Davis prevailed on the FCP to reverse its decision to lay off twenty employees. Regarding the potential layoffs, Foreign Affairs Minister and Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) Chairman Fred Mitchell said that "We cannot afford for the city of Freeport to fail. It's too big to fail and so anything which causes anything for Freeport to not succeed we have to be energetic to deal with it." [7]

JadeWeserPort is Germany's largest harbour project. It is supported by the states of Lower Saxony and Bremen. This new container port is located at Wilhelmshaven at the Jade Bight, a bay on the North Sea coast. It has a natural water depth in excess of 18 m. Container ships with a length of 430 metres (1,410 ft) and 16.5 metres (54 ft) draught will be able to call the JadeWeserPort at any tide. Construction work was begun in March 2008. The port was opened on 21 September 2012. However, due to the Great Recession, the port wasn't given the warmest of welcomes, and very little TEU traffic flowed through the brand new harbour. But the container handling could be raised from 60,000 in 2014 to 426,700 twenty-foot equivalent unit in 2015. The yearly capacity of the port is 2,700,000 TEU.

It was privately owned until the government of The Bahamas purchased it in April 29 2021 for one Bahamian dollar, a deal they were able to procure largely due to the devastation from Hurricane Dorian, which almost completely destroyed the airport in 2019. The Bahamian government spent a approximately $1 million on staff severance costs as part of the deal.

Khalifa Port is the Abu Dhabi Ports' flagship deepwater port. It is a gateway to Abu Dhabi and handles all of the emirate’s container traffic. The transfer of container traffic from Zayed Port was completed in December 2012.
The Haldia Dock Complex (HDC) is a docking facility on the Hooghly River in Haldia, West Bengal, India. It is one of the two dock systems under the Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata, with the other being the Kolkata Dock System (KDS). The facility specializes in handling dry and liquid bulk cargo. It is located about 130 kilometres (81 mi) from the sandheads–deep sea area of the Bay of Bengal, 45 kilometres (28 mi) upstream from Pilotage Station at Sagar and 104 km downstream of Kolkata. In 1968, an oil jetty was commissioned at Haldia, and officially in 1977 the dock facility of Haldia started functioning.
