Freya Parks is a British stage, television and film actress.

Career

As a child actress, Parks portrayed Etty Darwin in the 2009 film Creation alongside Paul Bettany and Jennifer Connolly. She played Helen Burns in the Cary Joji Fukunaga 2011 adaptation of Jane Eyre , and appeared in Tom Hooper's 2012 musical adaptation of Les Misérables . [1] She starred in Amazon Prime Video's Bliss! in 2016. [2]

In 2018, she was part of the touring stage production of Tristan Bernays and Dougal Irvine's musical Teddy . [3] [4]

Parks had a main role as Amy Jessop in 2020 comedy pilot Pandemonium developed by Tom Basden in which she starred alongside Katherine Parkinson and Jim Howick, [5] which developed into BBC Two comedy series Here We Go . [6] A second series was filmed in 2023, and broadcast in 2024. [7]

In 2022, she played Hester, the leader of the School for Evil's coven, in the Paul Feig film The School for Good and Evil . [8] [9] In 2024, she can be seen as Fiona in Steven Knight's BBC One six-part series This Town . [10] [11]

Here We Go is a British sitcom created and written by Tom Basden for the BBC. It stars Jim Howick, Katherine Parkinson, Alison Steadman and Tori Allen-Martin alongside Basden. The pilot episode, originally titled Pandemonium, was broadcast on 30 December 2020, commissioned as part of the long-running Comedy Playhouse strand.

Great Expectations is a historical fiction television miniseries developed by Steven Knight, based on the 1861 novel by Charles Dickens. It premiered on BBC One on 26 March 2023, followed by its US premiere on FX on Hulu later the same day.

This Town is a six-part British television series written and created for BBC One by Steven Knight and directed by Paul Whittington. It is produced by Kudos and Nebulastar and co-produced by Universal Music Group’s Mercury Studios. Music is written for the series by Dan Carey and Kae Tempest. Cast is led by Levi Brown, Jordan Bolger, Ben Rose and Eve Austin, with other cast members including Michelle Dockery, Geraldine James, David Dawson, and Nicholas Pinnock. The series premiered on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on 31 March 2024.
