The Friday-Graham Rail Spur is a branch rail line connecting the West Memphis Port to the Union Pacific Railroad near the city of West Memphis, Arkansas, United States. The railroad company serves the port directly via the spur. [1]
Starting in late 1991, the city rebuilt an abandoned Union Pacific branch that had served a place known as Tennark. The completed line was dedicated on May 19, 1994, twelve years after the port opened, and was named after Little Rock lawyer Hershel Friday, counsel for Union Pacific, and George Graham, former UP Southern Region general manager and consultant for the city. In June of 1845 a group of Illinois businessmen planned to build a railroad 75 miles long, linking Rock Island, Illinois with LaSalle, Illinois. Rock Island, now known as Arsenal Island, is home to Fort Armstrong (Illinois), which served as the gateway to Chicago for riverboat passengers and goods ferried on the Mississippi River as early as the 1830s. The original Rock Island Railroad was called Rock Island & La Salle Rail Road Company and was officially incorporated on February 27, 1847. As the railroad grew, the name was changed to the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad. Early Chicago travelers, often shortened the name to just the Rock Island Line, which grew to become a Class I railroad. In its final years, the name of the railroad was shortened again to just The Rock.

A siding, in rail terminology, is a low-speed track section distinct from a running line or through route such as a main line or branch line or spur. As a transit hub, the station serves Amtrak and Metrolink trains as well as local and regional buses. Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner from San Luis Obispo to San Diego, Amtrak's Coast Starlight from Los Angeles to Seattle, Washington, and Metrolink's Ventura County Line from Los Angeles Union Station to East Ventura stop here. Ten Pacific Surfliner trains serve the station daily, and six Metrolink trains serve the station each weekday. The Coast Starlight operates one train daily in each direction.

The Choctaw, Oklahoma and Gulf Railroad (CO&G), known informally as the "Choctaw Route," was an American railroad in the states of the Arkansas, and Oklahoma. The company, originally known as the Choctaw Coal and Railway Company, completed its main line between West Memphis, Arkansas and western Oklahoma by 1900. In 1901 the CO&G chartered a subsidiary company, the Choctaw, Oklahoma and Texas Railroad, to continue construction west into the Texas panhandle, and by 1902 the railroad had extended as far west as Amarillo.
