The Moderate Party, commonly referred to as the Moderates, is a liberal-conservative political party in Sweden. The party generally supports tax cuts, the free market, civil liberties and economic liberalism. Globally, it is a full member of the International Democracy Union and the European People's Party.
The Bert Diaries are a series of novels written in the form of a diary, by Swedish writers Anders Jacobsson and Sören Olsson. The main character is a Swedish teenager called Bert Ljung, living in Öreskoga, a fictional town in Sweden, in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The first book came out in 1987. Bert and his friends also have a pop/rock band, the Heman Hunters.
91:an is a popular Swedish comic strip, created in 1932 with the title En beväringsmans upplevelser och äventyr. This name soon changed to 91:an Karlsson, by Rudolf Petersson. It is now published in its own bi-weekly comic book, 91:an, and also as a single strip in the popular weekly women's magazine Året Runt.
Barbro Lindgren is a Swedish writer of children's books and books for adult readers. For her lasting contribution as a children's writer, Lindgren was a finalist for the biennial, international Hans Christian Andersen Award in 2004. Ten years later she won the annual Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award. The biggest cash prize in children's and young-adult literature, it rewards a writer, illustrator, oral storyteller, or reading promoter for its entire body of work.
Kalle Anka & C:o is a Swedish weekly Disney comics magazine, published by Egmont. The 52-page comic, launched in September 1948, is the overall best-selling Swedish comic magazine. In the early years, the comic printed translated stories from the United States, including Walt Disney's Comics and Stories, Four Color and other Dell Comics Disney titles. As Disney comics production waned in the United States in the 1960s, Kalle Anka began printing more European-produced content, from Scandinavia and Italy. Now, Kalle Anka & C:o and its Scandinavian sister editions Anders And & Co. (Denmark) and Donald Duck & Co (Norway) are identical, apart from the language.
Musikhjälpen is a Swedish televised benefit performance radio show marathon. The annually recurring show is a charity fundraiser for a chosen cause, the cause is changed each year. Three radio hosts or television personalities are locked inside a glass building for 144 hours. Each presenter acts as a host for eight hours respectively, totaling three shifts per day. It is broadcast in December, during one week, with dates varying each year.
Jan Gissberg is a Swedish cartoonist, animator and film director. After studying at Konstfack in Stockholm he started working as an animator under Stig Lasseby, and later went on to direct by himself. As a cartoonist he is best known for drawing Rudolf Petersson's 91:an Karlsson, and for his high production speed.
Thomas Fredrik Georg Funck was a Swedish baron (freiherr), author of children's literature, a radio personality and a voice artist, most famous for his stories about Charlie Strap and Froggy Ball. He is the brother of Hasse Funck. He was married to Eva Funck and they have a son Gustav.
Kalle Stropp och Grodan Boll räddar Hönan is a 1987 Swedish animated short film directed by Jan Gissberg about the two eponymous characters created by Thomas Funck. Funck also provides all voices. The film was released theatrically in Sweden on 12 December 1987. It was followed in 1991 by the feature-length film Charlie Strapp and Froggy Ball Flying High, made by the same team.

Östen med Resten is a Swedish music group from Hälsingland. It was formed in 1985. The original members were Östen Eriksson, Jens Kristensen and Nisse Damberg. The name, which literally means "Östen with the rest", was coined by Lasse Berghagen in 1986, when the band was to perform in Järvsö together with the singer Lill-Babs. It is a pun on "Östen med Rösten", which was the sobriquet of Östen Warnerbring.
