Fuel for the Fire is the first album by Ari Koivunen, the winner of the 2007 Finnish Idols competition. Among the metal artists who have contributed material to the album are Timo Tolkki (ex Stratovarius, Revolution Renaissance), Marko Hietala (Nightwish, Tarot, Northern Kings), Janne Joutsenniemi (Suburban Tribe), Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica, Northern Kings) and Jarkko Ahola (Teräsbetoni, Northern Kings).

Ari previously had performed the song during the 2007 Finnish Idols competition, but the album version is an acoustic arrangement and has a slightly altered organization of the lyrics.

Sapattivuosi is a Finnish Black Sabbath tribute band singing in Finnish. The band was initiated as a project by vocalist Hannu Paloniemi, drummer Simo Vehmas, and guitarist Janne Halmkrona. Sapattivuosi's first two albums covered songs from the Ozzy Osbourne era. Then vocalist Paloniemi left the band. He was replaced by Marko Hietala, known from bands such as Nightwish, Tarot and Northern Kings. Hietala first appeared with Sapattivuosi on their single Pelon lait, which came out on 4 March 2009. It was published by G-Regords and released in the rest of Europe on March 28, 2014, and the United Kingdom edition was published by Graphite Records and released on March 31, 2014.

Raskasta Joulua is a music project from Finland in which diverse artists have recorded traditional Christmas carols and Christmas hits in a heavy metal style. "Raskasta joulua" is a term in Finnish which means "heavy Christmas" in English. The concept was founded by guitarist Erkka Korhonen in 2004. Many notable Finnish metal vocalists have appeared on Raskasta Joulua albums and tours, including Marko Hietala, Jarkko Ahola, Ari Koivunen, Juha-Pekka Leppaluoto and Tony Kakko.
